Your Role
This position is based in Japan, dedicated full-time to growing FPT Automotive's presence in the Japanese automotive market. You will be the primary point of contact for Japanese OEM and Tier-1 accounts, responsible for identifying, developing, and converting strategic business opportunities.
Candidates must be fluent in Japanese and have direct experience working with Japanese clients or within the Japanese automotive market. An initial 6-month onboarding period at FPT Automotive's headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City is required prior to Japan deployment.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute a structured market entry and growth strategy for Japan, aligned with regional and global BD objectives
• Identify and qualify new business opportunities through proactive outreach, industry events, and relationship development with senior stakeholders at OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers
• Build and manage a qualified pipeline from initial engagement through to contract closure, including RFI/RFQ response coordination
• Establish and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with engineering, procurement, and executive decision-makers at key Japan accounts
• Represent FPT Automotive at industry forums, conferences, and customer meetings across Japan
• Collaborate closely with delivery, engineering, and product teams in Vietnam to ensure proposals are technically grounded and commercially competitive
• Provide structured market intelligence and account reporting to leadership on a regular basis
Your Profile
• Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Business, or a related field
• 5–8 years of professional experience in business development, sales, or strategic account management within the automotive or automotive technology sector
• Proven track record of managing complex B2B sales cycles with engineering-led customers
• Existing relationships with Japanese OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of automotive software development processes and the software-defined vehicle landscape
• Native or business-level Japanese; professional proficiency in English required
• High degree of self-direction, commercial acumen, and cross-cultural fluency
