About the Role:
- Business Development Manager / Vietnam Market Lead to help establish and grow our presence in Vietnam.
- This is a senior commercial role focused on building market traction, developing customer relationships, engaging the Microsoft ecosystem, and creating new business opportunities across Microsoft cloud, modern workplace, security, infrastructure, business applications, managed services, and related solutions.
- The role is suitable for someone with direct Microsoft experience, strong business professional English communication skills, and the ability to operate independently in a new market environment.
- This is initially an individual contributor role, with future leadership responsibilities as the Vietnam business expands.
- The role may also be expected to guide local activities, partners, or team members when needed.
- The initial appointment will be as Business Development Manager / Vietnam Market Lead, with a formal review after 6 months for potential progression to Vietnam Country Manager, subject to performance, business traction, leadership readiness, and management approval.
Reporting Line
- Reports to the Regional Sales Director / Regional Business Lead.
- Works closely with regional leadership, presales, solution architects, delivery teams, Microsoft partnership resources, marketing, finance, HR, and local office/admin support.
Key Responsibilities Market Development
- Build and develop business presence in Vietnam, starting with Ho Chi Minh City.
- Identify and develop target customer segments across SMB, mid-market, corporate, and regional companies with Vietnam presence.
- Develop qualified pipeline for Microsoft cloud, Microsoft 365, Azure, security, business applications, managed services, and related solutions.
- Build market intelligence on customer needs, competitor activity, pricing, buying behaviour, and local partnership opportunities.
Business Development & Sales
- Prospect, qualify, and develop new business opportunities.
- Own early-stage customer engagement, discovery, solution positioning, proposal coordination, and commercial follow-up.
- Work closely with internal presales, solution, delivery, and leadership teams.
- Drive qualified pipeline, forecast accuracy, and opportunity progression.
- Develop strategic customer relationships that can lead to long-term recurring revenue and services opportunities.
- Ensure customer commitments are aligned with internal delivery capability.
Requirements
- Based in or willing to work in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
- Strong business professional English communication skills, written and spoken.
- Strong Vietnamese business communication skills.
- Direct experience working in Microsoft, preferably in sales, business development, customer success, partner development, cloud solution sales, or account management.
- Good understanding of Microsoft cloud solutions, including Microsoft 365, Azure, security, business applications, or related services.
- Able to engage customers professionally at business and management level.
- Able to build pipeline from scratch, not just manage existing accounts.
- Strong ownership, discipline, and follow-through.
- Comfortable working with regional teams and multiple internal stakeholders.
- Able to work independently without waiting for step-by-step instructions
