What You'll Do

As the Business Development Lead based in Ho Chi Minh City, you will play an instrumental role in shaping how digital insurance products reach end users through trusted partners rather than direct sales. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve identifying potential collaborators across various industriessuch as telecoms, e-commerce giants, banks, and fintech firmsand guiding them through the process of integrating comprehensive insurance offerings into their existing services. By leveraging your expertise in partnership management and your ability to inspire teams towards shared goals, you will help create meaningful connections that drive both business results and customer satisfaction.   • Develop and execute strategies to identify, approach, and secure new business partnerships with key organisations in consumer finance, insurance, e-commerce, banking, and technology sectors.
  • Lead a dedicated team of up to 80 professionals, fostering a collaborative culture that encourages knowledge sharing and mutual support.
  • Work closely with partners to integrate a diverse range of insurance productsincluding device protection, travel insurance, health and accident coverage, motor vehicle insurance, property insurance, and cyber protectioninto their digital platforms.
  • Build strong relationships with decision-makers at partner companies to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing cooperation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as product development and marketing to tailor solutions that meet partner needs while aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation within the digital insurance landscape.
  • Report regularly to the General Manager on progress against targets, challenges encountered, and emerging opportunities for expansion.
  • Support the professional development of your team members through coaching, mentoring, and training initiatives that promote personal growth and collective achievement.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate for the Business Development Lead position brings deep expertise from the consumer finance or insurance industrypreferably having worked with both local innovators and international brands active in Vietnam. Your background should include hands-on experience developing strategic alliances that deliver tangible value for all parties involved.   • Extensive experience (ideally 5+ years) in business development or partnership management within consumer finance or insurance sectors in Vietnam or similar markets.
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating complex deals with large corporate partners such as banks, e-commerce platforms, or telecommunications companies.
  • Strong understanding of digital product integration processesespecially embedding financial or insurance products into third-party applications or services.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills that enable you to build trust-based relationships both internally and externally.
  • Familiarity with local players such as INSOOPE, SPapayaBlueOC Tech, Alpaca Vietnam, InnoTech as well as foreign entrants like IglooMarsConnectOneDegree or Bowtie Life Insurance is highly desirable.
