Business Development Intern / Volunteer

Location: Remote

Time Commitment: 15 hours per week

Duration: 6 months

About Kenosis Collective

Kenosis Collective is a forward-thinking global publishing organization dedicated to democratizing knowledge and amplifying high-impact non-fiction ideas across cultures and languages.

We collaborate with authors, partners, and volunteers worldwide to transform ideas into books, learning assets, and scalable knowledge products that create lasting intellectual and social impact.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Business Development Intern / Volunteer to support growth initiatives, partnerships, and revenue-generating activities across our global publishing ecosystem.

This role is ideal for individuals interested in entrepreneurship, publishing, partnerships, and digital business models, who want hands-on exposure to how ideas are transformed into scalable, sustainable ventures.

You will work closely with the leadership team on real business development initiatives that directly support the growth and long-term viability of Kenosis Collective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and identify potential partners, collaborators, and business opportunities
  • Support the preparation of business proposals, pitch decks, and partnership materials
  • Conduct market and competitor research across publishing, education, and digital content sectors
  • Assist with outreach, follow-ups, and relationship tracking
  • Contribute ideas for new products, services, or revenue streams
  • Support special projects related to business growth and strategy
Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, curious, and able to work independently in a remote environment
  • Interest in business development, entrepreneurship, publishing, or digital platforms
  • Ability to conduct structured research and clearly present insights
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides); Notion is a plus
  • Prior experience is welcome but not required initiative, reliability, and follow-through matter most
What You'll Gain

Although this is a volunteer role, Kenosis Collective treats it as a serious learning and development opportunity. For candidates who are genuinely interested and willing to commit, the organization will invest meaningful time and effort into your growth through guidance, context-setting, and feedback.

You will gain:

  • Practical, hands-on experience in business development within a global publishing organization
  • Exposure to partnerships, market analysis, and revenue models in knowledge-based businesses
  • Insight into how publishing, digital products, and strategic collaborations work together as a single ecosystem
  • Experience contributing to real proposals, outreach initiatives, and growth projects
  • Mentorship in strategy, leadership, and entrepreneurial thinking
  • A Certificate of Completion and a LinkedIn Recommendation upon successful contribution
  • A strong foundation for future roles in business development, strategy, publishing, or startup environments
Commitment & Expectations

This is a volunteer, part-time role but part-time does not mean casual.

Kenosis Collective invests significant time, energy, and attention into its volunteers, and we expect the same level of professionalism, commitment, and accountability in return.

Volunteers in this role are expected to communicate reliably, meet agreed timelines, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and approach the work with intent and discipline. This role is not suitable for candidates seeking intermittent, low-commitment, or purely exploratory involvement.

For individuals who demonstrate consistent commitment and ownership, Kenosis Collective will actively support their development through mentorship, feedback, and exposure to meaningful, real-world projects.
