With 200+ extensions & apps, a global merchant base, and a track record in building commerce tools that drive real revenue — we are now launching a dedicated Growth Intelligence service to help merchants diagnose performance gaps and unlock measurable business impact.
THE ROLE
As our eCommerce Business Data Analyst, you will be the intelligence engine behind our merchant growth service. You will audit merchant store performance, benchmark it against industry standards and competitors, identify revenue break points, and deliver prioritized, data-backed recommendations across key levers: Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), Average Order Value (AOV), customer retention, and more.
This is a high-impact, client-facing role at the intersection of data analysis, eCommerce strategy, and business consulting. Your findings directly shape the recommendations that drive merchant growth outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Merchant Business Audit
- Conduct structured performance audits covering traffic funnel, conversion funnel, checkout flow, product/catalog strategy, pricing, and UX
- Collect and normalize data from GA4, Shopify Analytics, ad platforms, heatmaps (Hotjar/Clarity), and third-party apps
- Build audit scorecards and health dashboards that clearly communicate merchant performance status
- Identify revenue leaks: cart abandonment, high-exit pages, checkout friction, missed upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Benchmark & Competitive Intelligence
- Maintain a benchmark database across eCommerce verticals (CVR, AOV, bounce rate, LTV, CAC) to compare merchant performance against industry medians and top-quartile peers
- Run competitive gap analysis against direct merchant competitors and category leaders
- Identify missing features, under-utilized capabilities, or structural gaps versus market benchmarks
Business Impact Recommendations
- Translate audit findings into a prioritized, revenue-quantified action plan (e.g., +$15K/month from checkout optimization)
- Build lightweight business case models for CRO improvements, AOV tactics (bundles, upsells), and retention strategy gaps
- Map recommendations to specific BSS product features or service offerings in collaboration with the Delivery team
- Produce concise, executive-ready reports that communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Knowledge Building & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain an internal playbook of proven eCommerce growth tactics segmented by vertical, platform, and business size
- Feed merchant findings back into the BSS product roadmap and app development priorities
- Stay current with eCommerce platform updates, CRO tools, consumer behavior trends, and competitive service models
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Must-Have
- 3+ years in eCommerce analytics, growth analysis, or CRO consulting
- Proficiency in GA4, Shopify Analytics, and a BI tool (Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau)
- Strong command of eCommerce KPIs: CVR, AOV, CAC, LTV, ROAS, abandonment rate
- Experience conducting UX/CRO audits with structured, data-driven output
- SQL or Python proficiency for data querying
- Ability to turn complex data into clear business narratives for non-technical audiences
- Structured problem-solving: break ambiguous merchant issues into prioritized, diagnosable gaps
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with A/B testing tools (Optimizely, VWO, Google Optimize)
- Familiarity with Hotjar, Clarity, or similar session tools
- Knowledge of the Shopify or Magento extension/app ecosystem
- Background in management consulting, growth hacking, or performance marketing
- Experience building benchmark models or competitive market sizing
