At gbc engineers, we're expanding our Engineering Department to Energy Efficiency in Ho Chi Minh City and we're looking for Building Energy Efficiency Engineers to join our international team of experts from Germany and Vietnam.
We're an international engineering consultancy headquartered in Germany, specialized in structural design, BIM modeling, and project management for industrial, commercial, and residential developments across Europe and South-East Asia. Position: Building Energy Efficiency Engineer
Location: Ho Chi Minh City

Main Tasks:
- Perform building performance simulations including thermal modeling, daylight analysis, energy modeling, and natural ventilation studies.
- Analyze and optimize façade performance, solar gain, shading strategies, and material selections.
- Support the design of low-energy and sustainable buildings aligned with international standards.
- Conduct computational analysis related to thermal comfort, indoor environmental quality, energy consumption, building envelope performance.
- Provide technical input during concept, schematic, and detailed design stages.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, structural, and MEP engineers.
- Prepare technical reports, simulation results, and recommendations for clients and project teams.
- Assist with green building certification processes (e.g., LEED, EDGE, WELL, Green Mark, LOTUS).
- Stay updated on innovations in building science, sustainability, and environmental design.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's, Master's or Engineering degree in Building Engineering, Civil Engineering with specialization in Energy Efficiency, Sustainable Design or related field.
- 2–8 years of experience in building physics, sustainability consulting, or environmental design.
- Open to fresher (0-1 year of experience).
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, building envelope design, passive design strategies, climate-responsive architecture.
- Experience with building performance tools such as IES VE, EnergyPlus, DesignBuilder, Ladybug / Honeybee (Grasshopper), Radiance, CFD tools (a plus).
