About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and commercially-minded B2B Transport Manager to build and manage our ecosystem of third-party transportation partners (3PLs). Instead of traditional fleet dispatching, this role focuses on the strategic orchestration of external resources to ensure seamless delivery for our key business customers.
The ideal candidate is a relationship builder and a tough negotiator who understands the logistics market and can scale our delivery capacity through high-performing partnerships. You will be responsible for vendor selection, performance auditing, and cost optimization to drive operational excellence.
What You Will Do
- Vendor Strategy & Sourcing: Identify, vet, and onboard high-quality transport service providers (3PLs) and owner-operators to expand our B2B delivery network.
- Performance Management (SLA/KPI): Establish and monitor rigorous KPIs (e.g., On-Time Delivery, Cargo Safety, Lead Time) to ensure vendors meet and exceed our service standards.
- Negotiation & Procurement: Lead contract negotiations, rate card structures, and commercial terms to ensure cost-competitiveness while maintaining service stability.
- Capacity Planning: Forecast and secure transport capacity from the vendor pool to handle seasonal peaks, promotional surges, and large-scale B2B project requirements.
- Solution Integration: Partner with the Solution Design team to integrate vendor capabilities into customized logistics offerings for B2B clients.
- Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure all partners comply with legal regulations, insurance requirements, safety protocols, and company ethical standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct regular Business Reviews (QBRs) with key partners to identify bottlenecks, implement corrective actions, and drive innovation in the transport chain.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Proven track record in B2B Transport Management, Logistics Procurement, or 3PL Vendor Management.
- Negotiation Excellence: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate complex contracts and manage multi-layered vendor relationships.
- Analytical Mindset: Proficient in data analytics to track vendor performance, analyze cost-per-shipment trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Problem Solving: A proactive approach to identifying supply chain risks and developing contingency plans for potential carrier failures.
- Communication: Excellent stakeholder management skills to act as the bridge between internal operations and external partners.
