Azure Infrastructure Engineer (Terraform/Terragrunt)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer with strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise to support and accelerate a major cloud infrastructure modernization initiative. This role will focus on improving and standardizing Azure-hosted environments, refining deployment workflows, and helping evolve scalable infrastructure architecture across multiple environments.

The successful candidate will work closely with the engineering team to validate and implement architectural improvements while maintaining delivery momentum during a key transformation phase.

Key Responsibilities

●​ Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt

●​ Support the migration and optimization of demo and internal environments into Microsoft Azure

●​ Improve provisioning workflows for core application instances and supporting infrastructure

●​ Contribute to Azure infrastructure architecture design and modernization initiatives

●​ Build and refine deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions

●​ Assist in implementing image-based deployment strategies to replace legacy ZIP/web app deployment methods

●​ Collaborate with engineering teams to validate architectural decisions in non-production environments before wider rollout

●​ Improve infrastructure consistency, scalability, automation, and operational reliability

●​ Support Azure networking improvements and infrastructure governance practices

●​ Document infrastructure standards, deployment workflows, and operational procedures

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

●​ Strong hands-on experience with:

○​ Terraform

○​ Terragrunt

○​ Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services

●​ Solid understanding of Azure ARM concepts and cloud infrastructure design

●​ Experience designing and managing Azure networking and infrastructure components

●​ Strong CI/CD experience using GitHub Actions

●​ Experience with infrastructure automation and deployment optimization

●​ Ability to work independently in evolving and partially defined environments

●​ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Desirable

●​ Experience implementing image-based deployment strategies

●​ Knowledge of Azure Web Apps and deployment modernization

●​ Experience with scalable environment provisioning patterns

● ​Familiarity with cloud governance and infrastructure best practices

●​ Exposure to multi-environment platform management and architecture validation
