ROLE & RESPONSITILITY
To design, develop, implement, and maintain automated systems and processes that optimize production efficiency, improve product quality, and reduce operational costs. The Automation Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure the reliability and performance of automation equipment.
- Design and develop automated control systems, including PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design, and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) configuration.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and production teams to integrate automation solutions into existing or new production lines/processes.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for automation projects, providing technical recommendations and project timelines.
- Install, test, and commission automation equipment (e.g., robots, conveyors, sensors, actuators) to ensure compliance with design specifications and operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system schematics, user manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintenance guides.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous production operations.
- Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and (upgrade) of automation equipment to enhance performance and extend service life.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in industrial automation (e.g., Industry 4.0, IoT, AI-driven automation) and recommend adoption of innovative solutions.
- Train production staff and maintenance teams on the operation and maintenance of automated systems.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, providing automation expertise to support business objectives such as cost reduction, quality improvement, and production scalability.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in industrial automation, with hands-on experience in PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000), HMI development, and SCADA system implementation.
- Proficiency in electrical circuit design, including reading and creating electrical schematics.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA).
- Knowledge of robotics (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA) and integration of robotic systems into production lines is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts, IoT integration, and data analytics for automation systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Siemens Certified Automation Engineer, Allen-Bradley Certified Professional) are an advantage.
