Job Description

The Associate leads projects from start to finish, manages client relationships, guides the team, ensures high-quality work, and supports the firm's growth.

Reports to:

Director

Principal/Associate Director

Responsible for:

Client Management

Project Delivery (all stages)

Team Leadership

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management

  • Plan and manage projects to meet client needs and company goals.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and provide updates.
  • Lead project teams, assign tasks, and track progress.
  • Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Check the quality and accuracy of all project documents.
  • Prepare required design and construction documents.
  • Help collect client feedback after project completion.
  • Work with the Office Manager on billing and payments.

2. Design

  • Attend client meetings to define project goals.
  • Help set the design direction with the Design Director.
  • Clearly explain design ideas to clients and the team.
  • Oversee the creation of design drawings.
  • Stay updated on design trends and apply new ideas to projects.

3. Client Management

  • Build strong client relationships through excellent service.
  • Respond promptly to client questions.
  • Support client presentations and ongoing communication.

4. Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Set a positive example for the team.
  • Mentor junior staff and support their growth.
  • Contribute to improvements and add value to the firm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field.
  • 15+ years of professional experience in architecture, including leadership of complex projects through all project stages.
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and leading multidisciplinary project teams. 
  • Strong knowledge of design development, construction documentation, consultant coordination, and project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, schedule, resources, and budgets effectively
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance design quality, client expectations, and project performance.
  • Fluent English communication, both written and spoken.
