Job Description

Sweef Capital is looking for an AVP/VP to join Sweef's Vietnam team. The AVP/VP will work with the Vietnam team to drive all aspects of the investment and portfolio management processes and will have exposure to the regional and global entrepreneurial and Private Equity ecosystems. The role will be part of the investing team covering Vietnam and other Southeast Asia markets, such as Indonesia and the Philippines, and based in either Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi. About the Role

The AVP/VP is responsible for sourcing, screening, evaluating, structuring, closing, monitoring and supporting investments in Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and other Southeast Asian countries. The AVP/VP will also support Sweef Capital's activities as required from time to time, including, but not limited to, staff development, promotion, and stakeholder engagement. The AVP/VP's work is to support senior management and in accordance with the firm's governance structure and policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

The AVP/VP reports to the Country Director and the Managing Director, and will wor closely with the investment and portfolio companies across Southeast Asia to:

  • Deal Sourcing: Develop and source a pipeline of high-potential investment opportunities across Southeast Asia with Vietnam as the key market
  • Deal Evaluation: Lead and drive the evaluation and due diligence process for investment opportunities, including industry research, the evaluation of financial performance, operational performance and key milestones, financial modelling, and valuation analysis.
  • Deal Execution: Lead and deliver seamless execution of a deal through the preparation of investment memos, negotiations and deal structuring, and management of deal execution processes.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Responsible for reviewing financial performance, value creation, impact measurement and management, including Sweef Capital Gender ROITM (Gender ROITM) and other impact metrics.
  • Value Creation: Create value for our portfolio companies by driving and delivering high-touch / strategic supports to our portfolio companies across several value-added initiatives.
  • Reporting: Drive and deliver high-quality reporting materials and presentations for the fund's various stakeholders through LP reports, investor presentations, annual meeting materials, etc.
  • Exit Planning: Support portfolio companies in identifying and executing exit opportunities, including secondary sales, trade sales, or IPOs
  • Fund Operations and Fundraising: Support the leadership in fund-level works, including investor relations, fundraising materials, etc.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise junior team members in deal execution and overall career development

Requirements Education, Experience, and Skills

  • MBA or related advanced degree and 2-3 years related experience, or related bachelor's degree and 5+ years investment experience
  • Demonstrated ability in one of the following:
  • Successful execution of Sweef Capital Associate responsibilities
  • Similar work as outlined above with other financial institutions (PE funds, banks, etc.)
  • Management consulting, including client capture activity and business consulting projects
  • Management (financial, marketing/sales, etc.) for operating firm (leading a significant portion of investment transactions including (1) sourcing leads, due diligence, structuring & closing deals, (2) drafting related memos, scorecards, related documents & financial models, (3) assessing social impact, and (4) leading deal discussions in decision check-ins)
  • Demonstrated ability to act independently & execute sound judgment
  • Relevant industry & emerging market knowledge/experience a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; fluent in Vietnamese and English
  • Strong financial and accounting skills, including financial modelling
  • Full proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong track record in successful client management, including interacting directly & independently with the senior management of potential clients and other stakeholders
  • Strong references from supervisors familiar with candidates work
