Title: Assistant Manager, IT Infrastructure
Job Location:Gia Lam, Hanoi (with shuttle bus to pick up employees)
Primary Purpose
The Assistant Manager IT supports the IT Leader in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the organization's technology infrastructure. This role oversees daily IT operations, drives project execution, manages vendors, and provides technical support to optimize system performance and user productivity. By ensuring effective IT governance and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives, the position contributes directly to operational excellence and organizational growth.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Supporting the leader: Developing and implementing IT strategies, policies, and procedures. This includes contributing to budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor management.
- Overseeing Daily Operations: Monitoring and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and software. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, ensuring system uptime and data security.
- User Support: Providing technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software problems, and escalating complex issues to the appropriate personnel. This often involves training users on new technologies and software.
- Team Supervision: May supervise and mentor a team of IT technicians and support staff, providing guidance and training.
- Project Management: Assisting in the planning, execution, and completion of IT projects within budget and timeline constraints. This includes coordinating with vendors, stakeholders, and IT staff.
- Security Management: Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive data and systems. This includes managing access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. Staying up-to-date on security best practices and compliance regulations.
- Vendor Management: Liaising with IT vendors to negotiate contracts, manage service level agreements, and ensure the timely delivery of services.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures.
- Staying Current: Keeping abreast of the latest technological advancements and industry best practices to ensure the organization's IT infrastructure remains modern and efficient. Ensuring that IT systems and practices comply with relevant regulations and policies.
- Budget Management: The process of creating, tracking, and adjusting a financial plan. It involves identifying income and expenses, setting financial goals, and making informed decisions about how to allocate resources. Effective budget management is crucial for individuals, families, and organizations to achieve their financial objectives and maintain financial stability.
- Support Global / Regional roll out projects : Supporting global or regional rollout projects requires a structured approach encompassing various aspects, from planning and execution to ongoing support and evaluation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years in a supervisory or assistant manager role. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, system administration, and security management.
- Experience in IT project management and vendor coordination.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and user support skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Good command of English (spoken and written) Certifications Advantage
- ITIL, CISSP, GCP and AWS Cloud architecture.
