About the Role
A leading multinational organization is looking for an experienced Assistant Accounting Manager to join its Finance team in Vietnam on a 12-month contract basis.
This is a key role combining General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Credit Management and Working Capital responsibilities. The position will work closely with the Accounting & Financial Control Manager and collaborate with Finance, Sales and other stakeholders to ensure strong financial control, accurate reporting and effective receivables management.
The successful candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, sound commercial awareness and the ability to take ownership of both accounting operations and credit/AR activities.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Financial Closing
- Manage general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and fixed asset accounting.
- Support monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
- Support timely and accurate financial reporting in line with accounting policies and applicable standards.
Credit Management & Accounts Receivable
- Monitor customer credit exposure, credit limits, overdue balances and overall credit risk.
- Analyze receivables performance and proactively identify and escalate collection risks.
- Coordinate collection activities and payment issue resolution with Sales and relevant stakeholders.
- Support bad debt provisioning and monitoring of customer exposure.
- Oversee invoicing and Accounts Receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timely follow-up.
Working Capital & Treasury Support
- Monitor receivables and overdue developments as part of working capital management.
- Provide regular receivables analysis and insights to Finance stakeholders.
- Support cash-flow visibility through effective monitoring of customer collections and receivable movements.
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Provide day-to-day operational guidance to the AR team.
- Ensure credit and AR processes are consistently followed and appropriately documented.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting, reconciliation and receivables processes.
- Contribute to process standardization, automation and finance system improvements.
- Support finance projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, controls and governance.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Support internal and external audit activities and ensure relevant documentation is accurate and readily available.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in accounting, general ledger, accounts receivable or credit management.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Practical experience in credit management and receivables management is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Finance, Sales and other functions.
- Experience leading or providing operational guidance to an AR team is an advantage.
- Experience with finance process improvement, standardization or automation is a plus.
- Good English communication skills.
