Job Description Application & Proposal Engineer (Water Treatment Technology and Application)
Position Summary
The Application & Proposal Engineer is responsible for designing technical solutions, preparing proposals, and supporting sales teams for water treatment Tecnology projects. The role focuses on Chemical dosing, Disinfection, and Measurement & control of ProMinent Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Application Engineering & Solution Design
- Analyse customer requirements and design appropriate water treatment solutions.
- Select and size equipment such as dosing pumps, Disinfection systems, Analysis Sensors, Controller and related accessories.
- Prepare system layout, P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, and control architecture.
- Develop system integration concepts for PLC/SCADA or controller-based solutions.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support when required.
- Ensure solutions are technically sound, cost-effective, and compliant with internal standards.
2. Proposal, Tender & Costing
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including BOQ, datasheets, compliance statements, and cost sheets.
- Participate in tender clarification meetings and technical presentations with customers and consultants.
- Coordinate with internal teams for pricing, product selection, and project support.
3. Disinfection systems:
Experience in key disinfection technologies, including:
- Ozone: Basic understanding of system design, sizing, and safety considerations.
- UV: Knowledge of UV dose, UVT, and selection of suitable UV systems.
- Chlorine Dioxide: Familiar with generation methods, dosing requirements, and safety handling.
Responsibilities include selecting appropriate disinfection solutions, preparing technical proposals, and supporting customers with technical clarifications.
4. Customer, Sales & Project Support
- Support sales team with pre-sales and post-sales technical consultation.
- Conduct product and solution presentations for customers, consultants, and internal teams.
- Support service and project teams during handover and implementation stages.
5. Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare engineering documentation including datasheets, system drawings, and technical submissions.
- Ensure solutions comply with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related fields.
Experience
- 25 years experience in water treatment applications.
- Practical experience with disinfection systems (chlorine dosing, UV, ozone).
- Strong understanding of Process, measurement & control instrumentation.
Skills
- Strong analytical and engineering calculation ability.
- Good presentation skills with the ability to explain technical topics clearly.
- Proficient in preparing proposals, P&IDs, and engineering documents.
- Good communication in English (technical writing + customer communication).
- MS Office proficiency; AutoCAD is an advantage.
