About the Department
The Compliance function is a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today's tight and dynamic regulatory landscape. To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks. This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and implement AFC advisory strategy aligned with the Country Head of Compliance and the Bank's strategic direction
- Promote a strong compliance culture and ethical conduct across the organization
- Oversee localization and implementation of AFC-related policies and procedures
- Collaborate with business/product heads to ensure a unified One-Bank approach
Business Partnership
- Provide proactive compliance advisory to business and support functions on regulatory matters, product design, and new initiatives.
- Ensure internal procedures comply with local regulations and are regularly updated.
- Support risk assessments and control frameworks to manage financial crime risks.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely communication and implementation.
Risk Management
- Identify and assess emerging regulatory risks and provide timely guidance.
- Maintain effective tracking and reporting of AFC-related issues and risk mitigation plans.
- Ensure local implementation of Group standards and escalate deviations when necessary.
- Collaborate with Group and regional teams to manage horizon risks.
Governance
- Represent AFC in governance forums and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Ensure product governance and audit readiness.
- Lead remediation efforts and lessons learned from audits and regulatory reviews.
- Manage regulatory relationships and promote a constructive regulatory environment.
People & Talent
- Lead by example, fostering a culture of integrity, openness, and accountability.
- Set clear objectives, provide feedback, and support career development for team members.
- Ensure team competency through ongoing training and succession planning.
- Optimize team structure and capacity to meet compliance demands..
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in legal, banking or finance
- Over 10 years of experience in Anti-Financial Crime, Compliance or Legal Advisory in Banking areas, with solid background in compliance, risk and control management and advisory.
- Requires superior analytics (including data analytics) and problem-solving skills. Must be attentive to details.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- A strong and assertive communicator in speaking and writing, in both Vietnamese and English.
- Be able to independently liaise with and to manage the SBV officers
- Strong leadership to lead the Anti-Financial Crime Advisory Team.
- Strong collaboration, action oriented, customer focus, instill trust and nimble learning,
- Open, strategic mindset and creative thinking.
