About the Role
The role involves the implementation and monitoring of the GREENFEED Health Assurance Program, ensuring adherence to health protocols and biosecurity procedures across various units in the supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Conducting veterinary and biosecurity audits to ensure adherence of GREENFEED units to health protocols and biosecurity procedures throughout the supply chain: farm, feedmill, transport, feed delivery, truck wash, slaughter plant.
- Diagnosis, treatment, prevention and/or control of swine diseases.
- Coordinating sample collection, laboratory testing and analysis.
- Coordinating animal density surveys and ring vaccinations surrounding the GreenFeed Farms.
- Monitoring animal welfare.
- Providing effective training on biosecurity and animal health related topics across the value chain.
- Developing effective networks with veterinarians, regulators, the academe and allied industries to keep GREENFEED abreast with local, national and international industry updates, new scientific developments and production technologies.
- To be professionally current by attending conferences and professional meetings.
- Do translations from Vietnamese to English and vice versa, both oral and written, ensuring meaning and context are maintained.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or related course.
- 1 2 years pig production experience.
Required Skills
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese languages, oral and written.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Resourcefulness, attention to detail, accuracy, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, flexible, adaptable, able to work independently and under pressure.
- Ability to handle animals patiently, gently and confidently.
- Willing to do dirty and unpleasant tasks (example: necropsy, slaughtercheck, etc.).
- Willing to travel for work.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in veterinary medicine or animal health.
- Knowledge of biosecurity protocols.
