AI Product Builder in Residence

GenAI Fund is looking for a highly hands-on AI Builder in Residence to join our team.

This is a full-time, paid residency structured as an internship, designed for builders who want to spend their time shipping real AI products and working on real-world enterprise AI deployments.

We're hiring with long-term potential in mind. Strong performers will have the opportunity to convert into a permanent role and take on significantly greater ownership as we build out GenAI Fund's AI product and engineering capabilities.

We're looking for someone who doesn't just follow what's happening in AI — you build with it.

You've shipped AI products with real users. You actively experiment across the AI ecosystem and have developed your own opinions about which models, tools, and approaches work best for different problems. When something new launches, your instinct is to understand how it works and what you can build with it.

At GenAI Fund, you'll work across two areas:

1. Building our own AI products from 0→1

2. Building and deploying AI solutions with our enterprise partners

You'll have significant ownership and the opportunity to work across the full journey from problem → prototype → production → real users → iteration.

Work closely with our team to identify opportunities, prototype ideas, and ship new AI products for our ecosystem of builders, startups, and enterprises.

Depending on the project, you may work on:

• AI agents and agentic workflows
• LLM-powered applications
• AI developer tools and infrastructure
• Multi-model and multi-provider AI products
• Internal AI tools and automation
• New 0→1 products that could develop into standalone ventures

You won't just be handed specifications to execute.

We expect you to understand the problem, explore different approaches, build quickly, get products into users hands, learn from how they're actually used, and continuously improve them.

You'll also work as a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) on real-world enterprise AI projects.

You'll:

• Work with enterprises to understand their business problems and workflows
• Identify where AI can create meaningful impact
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Rapidly prototype and test AI applications
• Build AI agents, RAG systems, workflows, integrations, and applications
• Connect AI systems with enterprise data, APIs, and existing tools
• Work directly with users and stakeholders
• Help move successful prototypes toward production

You should be equally comfortable building at your laptop and explaining what you've built to a customer.

The strongest signal for us is simple:

You've already shipped AI products that real people use.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has strong hands-on software engineering skills, particularly in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript
• Has built and shipped AI applications beyond coursework, tutorials, or simple demos
• Has hands-on experience with modern AI development — this could include LLM APIs, agents, RAG, tool calling, embeddings, vector databases, AI coding tools, or other parts of the emerging AI stack
• Understands APIs, backend systems, databases, deployment, and the realities of running an AI product
• Actively experiments across the AI ecosystem and develops strong opinions about which models, tools, and approaches work best for different problems
• Has strong product instincts and thinks about users and outcomes, not just models and prompts
• Can move quickly from an ambiguous problem to something people can actually use
• Is highly resourceful and comfortable figuring things out without a detailed playbook
• Can communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Strong communication in both English and Vietnamese is important. You'll work directly with technical and business stakeholders and should be comfortable understanding business problems, asking the right questions, and explaining technical decisions clearly.

Hanoi-based candidates are preferred.

We care much less about titles or years of experience than what you've built, how you think, and how quickly you can turn new AI capabilities into something useful.
