Job Summary
The AI Engineer position will play a crucial role in building, evaluating, and optimizing performance for AI Agents and Agentic systems. This role focuses on leveraging cutting-edge AI technology to develop production-ready AI products that deliver real value to users and improve business outcomes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate mastery across the six core AI engineering patterns: Models, Prompting, Context (RAG), Orchestration (Agents), Evaluations & Observability, and the right engineering mindset for scaling AI applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and JavaScript
- Build and optimize APIs using frameworks like FastAPI and NestJS
- Develop and manage databases using PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Work closely with product teams to translate end-user requirements into Backend solutions
- Design and build sophisticated multi-agent systems for customer support, analytics, and test automation systems with proper routing, orchestration, and state management
- Build scalable RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) systems with proper context management
- Develop and maintain agentic systems using frameworks like Langchain, LangGraph, CrewAI, and LlamaIndex
- Master prompt engineering best practices including chain of thought and structured outputs
- Build robust evaluation frameworks and observability systems to measure AI performance
- Implement security and data protection measures for AI systems
MUST HAVE
Technical Skills:
- Bachelor&aposs degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- 2+ years of experience in backend development with strong focus on Python and JavaScript
- Expert-level programming skills with strong software engineering fundamentals
- Familiar with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) and model optimization techniques
- Demonstrated mastery in prompt engineering, structured outputs, and chain of thought techniques
- Experience building RAG systems, vector databases, and semantic search implementations
Experience & Knowledge:
- Pair-programming with GenAI
- Proficiency in frameworks such as FastAPI and NestJS
- Solid experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Hands-on experience with agent frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, or similar)
- Strong understanding of system design principles and AI system architecture
- Ability to build robust testing frameworks and implement comprehensive monitoring systems
PREFERRED
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with Agile development practices
- Knowledge of advanced RAG techniques including semantic chunking and query understanding
- Experience with observability tools like Langfuse, LangSmith, Gentrace, or Arize
- Understanding of embeddings, vector representations, and similarity search algorithms
- Experience with batch processing, streaming, and real-time AI applications
- Experience with open-source model deployment and management (OLLAMA, Together.ai, Fireworks.ai)
NOT QUALIFIED
- Less than 2 years of software engineering experience
- Having no production-level projects that had been contributing for at least 1 year
- No experience with AI/ML systems or LLM integration
- Lack of proficiency in Python and JavaScript
- No understanding of prompt engineering or AI model optimization
- Unable to work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving AI environment
- Lack of problem-solving skills or unwillingness to experiment and iterate
- No passion for learning and staying updated with AI industry trends
