JOB SUMMARY
The Advance Supplier Quality Supervisor (Plastic, Motor, Electronics & Metal) will drive the ASQE Engineers to collaborate with New Product Development & Quality Engineering teams to work with suppliers on new component development and qualification, which include CTQ dimension review, inspection method development and PPAP document development, etc.
In addition, the candidate will take the lead in assessing and developing supplier manufacturing processes, quality control, and inspection capabilities to ensure suppliers have a good understanding and ability to manufacture parts according to TTI drawing specifications and quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
Lead the ASQE team (ASQE Engineers) to:
- Advance work involvement with NPI and QE teams on new component development and qualification
- (e.g. CTQ dimension review, inspection method development, PPAP document development).
- Focus on supplier manufacturing processes, quality control, and inspection capabilities.
- Support Sourcing and OPEX teams on new supplier technical capability assessment prior to business award and tooling release.
- Partner with SQE team to ensure part quality consistency from NPD to post-MP stage.
- Ensure suppliers meet TTI quality standards; develop suppliers to meet these quality requirements as needed.
- Review engineering specifications and drawings to determine supplier capabilities to meet parameters; review new and modified product designs from a material standpoint and advise modifications when necessary.
- Provide on-site leadership at supplier locations to drive team efforts and activities.
- Work with Engineering to drive technical document changes when needed.
- Prepare weekly and monthly quality performance reports to QM Senior Management.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of related working experience in Engineering or Quality positions; familiarity with component production and quality control.
- Experience in team management.
Knowledge
- Strong knowledge and experience with Quality Tools such as Six Sigma, ISO standards, FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, DOE, 8D, AQL sampling, etc.
Functional Skills
- Preferably have reliability test experience; familiar with designing reliability test items, conditions, failure analysis, and reporting test status, etc.
- Able to work independently and proactively.
- Strong problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate English reading, writing, and speaking skills; ability to communicate in Chinese is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is a MUST.
- PC skills required (MS Office, Outlook, etc.). Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) is an advantage.
