About KUV: Keiser University Vietnam, formerly known as Broward Vietnam, is a member of the EQuest Education Group. Building upon a 15-year journey, beginning in 2024, KUV is further expanding and offering a diverse range of majors and educational levels, following the U.S. curriculum in Vietnam.
We are seeking Adjunct Lecturers for Information Technology Program, as detailed below:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver dynamic, engaging lessons in the subject area, using a variety of teaching methods and emerging technologies to enhance instruction.
- Prepare class materials, assignments, lesson plans, and assessments as required.
- Maintain administrative and academic deadlines and schedules, including grading, in a timely manner.
- Create a variety of assessments, both formative and summative, to measure applied learning outcomes.
- Maintain respectful and professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, and parents.
- Ensure regular and timely attendance and fulfill working hours as assigned.
- Strictly follow the institution's Faculty Code of Conduct
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the institution's mission.
Other Responsibilities:
- Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities (e.g., professional development, faculty training, field trips, clubs, etc.).
- Foster a student-centered, positive learning environment that promotes creativity and academic growth.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies and serve as a positive role model for students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and curricula.
Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned Master's degree in the Information Technology or Computer Science area or a Master's degree in any discipline and at least 18 graduate credit-hours in Information Technology field. Preference is given to graduates of U.S. universities.
- The Master's degree must be earned from an accredited institution. Degrees earned in the U.S. must be from a regionally accredited institution. Degrees earned in countries outside of the U.S. must be from institutions that are officially recognized by that country's Ministry of Education or similar official governmental body.
- Applicants must possess appropriate credentials, work experience, additional training and/or coursework that meet criteria of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
- Foreign applicants must be eligible to obtain the necessary work and residency permits in Vietnam.
- Fluency in English (IELTS 8.0+/CEFR C1)
- Able to effectively engage with a culturally and linguistically diverse group of students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently living in Vietnam, preferably in Ho Chi Minh City.
- A state teaching certificate showing the ability to teach at an institute of higher education
- 120 hr. TEFL/TESL certificate (e.g. CELTA, TrinityCERT)
- Prior teaching experience in a college or university
- Proficiency in using modern technology to enhance communication, planning, and instruction (previous experience with Blackboard or any LMS a plus).
- Competence in employing a variety of teaching techniques to support student learning.
- Passion for the subject matter and a commitment to fostering student engagement.
- Ability to create inclusive learning environments that address diverse student needs.
- Willingness to collaborate to research, plan, and implement innovative teaching strategies.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development aligned with the institution's goals.
Schedule:
- Most academic terms are 7 weeks, with 6 terms per year, year-round.
- 1 credit requires 15 teaching hours. Thus, a 3-credit course requires 45 teaching hours per term, typically consisting of a 3.25 hour class twice per week. Most courses are 3 credits but some, particularly IT-related courses, may be 4 or more.
- All classes are held in-person.
- Classes are scheduled during the weekday (Monday through Friday). However, courses may be held at night or on weekends, subject to demand and lecturer availability. Lecturers will be consulted for their availability prior to scheduling.
- All faculty must complete a mandatory probationary period of 2 teaching terms.
Remuneration:
- This is an adjunct position offered on a term-by-term, course-by-course basis.
- Remuneration is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
