The ADAS Fleet Test Lead Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and managing fleet level verification & validation (V&V) of ADAS functions on VinFast vehicles across public roads and proving grounds. The role ensures test coverage against system/UI/UX requirements and delivers high- -quality test documentation and campaign reports.
- Test Planning & Documentation
- Study System Requirements, HMI/UI/UX specs, and develop documents for test strategy, test plan, test routes, test cases, and acceptance criteria following the V model.
- Maintain test documents under change control and user responses (VOC); keep traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.
- Vehicle Readiness & Instrumentation
- Prepare and configure test vehicles (software build, calibration, ECU variants).
- Coordinate instrumentation and data logging (e.g., CAN/LIN/Ethernet, GNSS/RTK, IMU, video, radar/camera/lidar raw data).
- Perform pre--drive safety and functionality checks.
- Test Execution & Fleet Operations
- Execute and manage on road- ADAS tests (driving tests) and closed track/proving ground campaigns; schedule vehicles & drivers, manage test routes, and monitor real time- KPIs.
- Conduct bench-marking tests and comparative evaluations as required (VN and overseas).
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and local regulations during all driving activities.
- Defect Management & Reporting
- Collect, label, and analyze logs; reproduce issues; open and track defects in the issue -tracking system.
- Provide test reports, campaign summaries, and recommendations to development teams.
- Contribute to root -cause discussions with system, perception, and control engineers.
Requirements
- Engineer or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation or related engineering discipline.
- Solid understanding of automotive software development and test processes (V -model, V&V).
- Hands-on experience with vehicle field testing and test management.
- Familiarity with vehicle E/E architecture and communication buses (CAN/LIN/Ethernet) and with ADAS sensors (camera, radar, lidar, ultrasonic).
- Experience on creating test routes/scenarios and executing structured on road/proving-ground tests.
- ADAS domain knowledge is a strong plus.
- Basic scripting/data handling (e.g., Python/MATLAB); test & defect tools (e.g., Jira/ALM); awareness of ISO 26262 and SOTIF (ISO/PAS 21448). Soft skills
- Effective communication in English (spoken & written).
- Clear, concise documentation; cross -functional collaboration; attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and having at least 2 years of car driving on open road continuously.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work extended driving shifts/weekends when required by test campaigns.
- Willing to work onsite at VinFast Hai Phong Factor.
