Job Description

Key Responsibilitues

1. Team Building & Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and develop a skilled team of ADAS test engineers and technicians, establishing clear roles and responsibilities within the ADAS testing function.
  • Foster a goal-oriented and collaborative team environment, ensuring alignment with industry-leading practices and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, enabling professional growth and ensuring high standards in testing quality

2. Test Planning & Preparation:

  • Understanding test requirements based on industry standards and internal development needs.
  • Developing detailed test plans, including defining test scenarios, vehicle instrumentation, and environmental conditions.
  • Coordinating with test engineers, vehicle engineers, and data teams to ensure readiness.

3. Track Setup & Execution:

  • Configuring the ADAS test track with required infrastructure (e.g., soft targets, GPS-based positioning, controlled environments).
  • Using road targets (e.g., Euro NCAP-approved pedestrian, vehicle, cyclist targets).
  • Operating steering and braking robots to ensure repeatable, precise testing.
  • Utilizing high-precision GPS and motion control software for accurate vehicle positioning.
  • Executing test scenarios such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind Spot Detection, and pedestrian detection.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and risk assessments.

4. Data Collection & Analysis:

  • Capturing high-fidelity test data using vehicle sensors, cameras, radars, and LiDAR.
  • Using test automation software and data logging tools to analyze system performance.
  • Identifying deviations and coordinating re-tests if needed.

5. Reporting & Compliance:

  • Documenting results, generating test reports, and providing feedback to R&D teams.
  • Proposing optimizations in test methods, track design, or procedures based on findings.
  • Ensuring test traceability and alignment with regulatory and homologation standards.
  • Compliance with ADAS Testing Standards, including but not limited to:
    • Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme)
    • NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration)
    • UNECE R79, R152, R155, R156 (Regulations for automated lane-keeping, AEB, cybersecurity, software updates)
    • SAE J3016 (Taxonomy for Autonomous Driving Levels)
    • ISO 21448 (Safety of the Intended Functionality - SOTIF)
    • ISO 19237 (Blind Spot Monitoring System Performance)
Requirements

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is required. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in ADAS testing within a reputable or world-class proving ground or testing facility.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing ADAS testing teams, fostering a focus on quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive ADAS testing standards, data analysis, and regulatory safety practices, including familiarity with NCAP, UNECE, SAE, and EU regulations, ensuring compliance and alignment with industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex ADAS testing projects, ensuring deliverables meet client expectations and industry benchmarks.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English, with excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • A collaborative approach to mentoring and coaching team members while driving continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with ADAS test track equipment, data acquisition systems, and facility requirements for effective ADAS vehicle testing.
