Actuarial Senior Officer - Pricing

Job Description

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

We're looking for someone proactive and self-driven, who brings positive energy to the team and helps sustain morale through demanding periods (regulatory deadlines, board submissions), while maintaining strong attention to detail and responsiveness to stakeholders. The ideal candidate takes ownership beyond their immediate scope and contributes to a collaborative, solutions-oriented team culture.

PRODUCT & PRICING (50%)

  • Conduct market research to understand competitive pricing landscapes and customer sensitivity.
  • Build and maintain pricing models for new products, and repricing exercises
  • Perform assumption analysis (mortality, morbidity, lapse, expenses) and support setting of pricing basis
  • Prepare profitability metrics (VNB, IRR, etc) and sensitivity analysis for management review
  • Draft regulatory pricing documentation and support submissions to the Insurance Supervisory Authority
  • Assist with competitive benchmarking and ad hoc pricing requests from distribution channels (Agency, Bancassurance, etc)
  • Proactively identify pricing and profitability risks and opportunities, raising them with senior actuaries ahead of formal review cycles
  • Prepare clear summaries and presentation materials for senior stakeholders

REINSURANCE MANAGEMENT (30%)

  • Own the end-to-end reinsurance process for pricing, including treaty terms review, reinsurer pricing queries, retention and rate negotiation support, and reconciliation with pricing assumptions
  • Coordinate with underwriting, claim, product, and sales teams on related queries

IMPLEMENTATION (20%)

  • Participate in the product/ initiatives implementation process, including reviewing and system testing.

Support other functions on requests

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, or related field
  • 3–5 years of actuarial experience
  • Progress toward actuarial exams, 4+ exams passed preferred
  • Strong Excel skills required; data analysis capabilities (R, Python, or Power BI) a plus
  • Experience working with reinsurers or reinsurance arrangements a plus
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; able to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong English proficiency, both written and verbal, a distinct advantage
