Position: Accounts Payable Team Lead (VNO)
Reports To: Chief Accountant
Direct Reports: AP Officers
Role Objectives To ensure accurate and timely execution of Accounts Payable operations, maintain strong controls and compliance, and drive process improvements while providing guidance to junior team members.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting experience with strong ownership of end-to-end AP processes
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to handle complex transactions and resolve issues independently
- Ability to lead and support junior team members, including task allocation, review, and guidance
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. JD Edwards, Oracle) and strong Excel skills
- Strong English (written & spoken) for daily work with global teams
- Proactively explore and apply new AI-driven approaches to improve processes and workflows
Work Hours: Standard office hours:
8:30am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with one hour lunch break between 12 noon and 1.00pm, plus reasonable additional hours.

Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Accurately process, monitor and follow up all supplier invoices and payments
- Manage payment scheduling to optimize cash flow while ensuring timely and accurate payments
- Monitor AP aging and follow up on outstanding items
- Perform operational review and approval of low-value and routine payments within authorized limits, supporting efficient payment processing
- Prepare and process debit/credit notes to suppliers and intercompany
- Prepare accrual and month end journals
- Perform monthly reconciliations of supplier statements and bank accounts against system records.
- Undertake A/P analysis (weekly/monthly).
- Maintain accurate supplier master data
- Handle supplier and internal staff payment-related queries
- Process and review employee expense claims
- Support cash flow management and provide weekly payment forecasts
- Maintain AP filing systems
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to Accounts Payable
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and tax regulations in all AP processes
Team Management
- Oversee the day-to-day workload planning, task allocation and performance of direct reports to ensure operational efficiency
- Lead, guide, and review work of junior AP team members
- Manage the training and professional development of team members, providing timely and constructive feedback on a regular basis
- Work with direct reports to set individual KPIs and conduct regular reviews in line with the Moose Performance Management Program
- Assist and participate in recruitment as required
General
- Coordinate with banks to resolve payment and administrative matters
- Continuously improve upon relevant internal policies and procedures
- Maintain SOPs and drive process improvements for better efficiency and control
- Provide support where necessary to Finance Manager, Customer Service and Warehouse Operations.
- Assist in providing documents for audit and tax purposes
- Perform ad hoc task, support special project and system enhancement as assigned
