Accounts Assistant

Position: Accounts Assistant
Reports To: Finance Manager - Vietnam/ Matrix report to Finance Manager - UK & EU
Direct Reports: None
Work Location and Hours:
Ho Chi Minh City
Standard office hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break, plus reasonable additional hours.

Role Objectives

• To provide the highest level of accurate financial information, to the UKO Finance Team.
• To maintain an effective and professional credit control system for our distributor clients
• To manage ledger transactions and ensure payments are received and processed on a timely basis.
• To work with customers and other departments to resolve customer queries effectively and in a timely manner.
• To input invoice details onto customer's portals accurately
• To assist our UK & French colleagues with payment processing and other ad-hoc tasks as required

Responsibilities:

• To support the UKO Finance department by carrying out tasks such as:
• Support with the monthly VAT reporting for UK & EU. In addition to running and compiling the UK & EU VAT returns, establishing checks and performing monthly reconciliations to the ledger.
• Provide assistance and/or prepare information for other regulatory returns (i.e. Intrastat, DEB/DES returns, etc)
• Support with monthly & quarterly licensor royalty reporting and ensuring royalties are reported in line with the terms of the contract.
• Provide estimate of VAT and royalty liabilities for forecasting purposes.
• Support audit requests with internal/external auditors and tax inspectors.
• Assist UKO team with raising payments, processing invoices and other ad hoc tasks as required..
• Maintain daily cashbooks based on bank statements and perform bank reconciliations.
• Prepare recharge calculations and reconcile intercompany balances between UKO, FRO, and other entities.
• Prepare monthly agent commission reports and reconcile them with sales data.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working within an audit team or finance function and supporting the Management Accountant/Financial Accountant or similar.
• ACA/CIMA/ACCA (or similar) part-qualified is highly desirable
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
