Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Team Leader to oversee accounting operations across Group international entities, including Singapore, the United States, and other overseas jurisdictions.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager in Singapore, you will lead a team of Accountants, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, timely month-end close, and consistent accounting standards across all assigned entities. You will also play an active role in improving accounting processes, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the development of the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
• Lead day-to-day accounting operations across multiple international entities.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, accounting schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and payroll accounting activities.
• Ensure accounting records are maintained accurately and in accordance with Group accounting policies and local regulatory requirements.
Financial Reporting
• Review monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
• Prepare and review group reporting packages and consolidation.
Compliance, Audit & Tax
• Coordinate external audits and statutory reporting requirements across all jurisdictions.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, payroll providers, and corporate secretaries.
• Support Corporate Income Tax, GST/VAT, withholding tax, and other local compliance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Team Leadership
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2 accountants.
• Review work performed by team members and provide technical guidance.
• Allocate workloads and monitor team performance.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training activities.
Process Improvement
• Drive process standardization and automation initiatives across the Group.
• Strengthen internal controls and financial governance.
• Support ERP implementation, system enhancements, and accounting transformation projects.
Business Partnering
• Support ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives.
• Provide recommendations on accounting treatments and key financial risks.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Professional Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• ACCA, CPA, CA, or an equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.
Experience & Technical Competencies
• 5 - 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years leading or supervising an accounting team.
• Strong business English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of IFRS (mandatory). Exposure to US GAAP is an advantage.
• Experience managing accounting activities across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions. Experience supporting entities across APAC and/or the US is preferred.
• Strong understanding of month-end close, financial reporting, audit, and statutory compliance.
• Experience with group consolidation and intercompany accounting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Experience with accounting systems, particularly Xero, is highly preferred.
• Exposure to internal controls, SOX compliance, or finance transformation initiatives is an advantage.
