POSITION OVERVIEW
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring strict financial compliance across our global business operations. As an experienced professional with a strong background in E-commerce, you will manage complex financial transactions, multi-currency reconciliations, and optimize our accounting systems to support the company's growth.
In this role, you will lead the core accounting function, ensure robust internal controls, and provide accurate, timely financial data to the Head of Finance and key management to facilitate strategic decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. E-commerce Financial Ledger & Transaction Management
- Supervise, record, and accurately classify all financial transactions, including global sales, refunds, operating expenses, and vendor payments.
- Drive automation in data entry and ledger management wherever possible to ensure real-time financial tracking.
- Maintain a highly organized, secure digital archiving system for all financial records to ensure seamless auditing and tax readiness.
2. Advanced E-commerce Reconciliation & Reporting
- Perform complex, high-volume reconciliations between e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon, TikTok Shop), payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal), bank statements, and internal systems.
- Prepare and close monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements) in compliance with FRS/IFRS standards.
- Monitor day-to-day cash flow and provide accurate financial snapshots to management.
3. Working Capital & Inventory Control
- Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring timely collections from global e-commerce platforms, payment agents, and wholesalers, while managing vendor disbursements efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with the supply chain and inventory teams to track, record, and value inventory levels, cost of goods sold (COGS), and purchase orders.
- Oversee periodic physical-to-digital inventory reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
4. Tax, Payroll & Global Compliance
- Partner with third-party global tax service providers and consultants (including Singapore-based advisors) to ensure full compliance with international corporate tax, VAT/GST, and payroll regulations.
- Ensure all statutory filings and payroll disbursements are executed accurately and on schedule.
5. Financial Analysis & Internal Controls
- Conduct deep-dive financial data analysis to identify operational trends, leakages, and cost-saving opportunities in ad spend, logistics, and vendor fees.
- Design, implement, and maintain rigorous internal control policies to safeguard company assets, mitigate financial risks, and streamline remote accounting workflows.
6. System Integration & Optimization
- Manage and optimize the Xero accounting software ecosystem, ensuring seamless API integration with various e-commerce platforms, CRM tools, and payment gateways.
- Troubleshoot system errors in collaboration with IT vendors and payment service providers to eliminate accounting downtime.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience:7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, with at least 3–5 years of concrete experience in the E-commerce or Digital Retail sector.
- Education & Professional Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA qualification is highly preferred / required.
- Technical Skills: * Expert proficiency in Xero accounting software or similar cloud-based ERP systems.
- Deep understanding of e-commerce payment ecosystems (Stripe, PayPal, Payoneer, etc.) and platform backend accounting (Shopify, Amazon, etc.).
- Advanced mastery of MS Excel (Data analysis, modeling, pivot tables).
- Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (FRS/IFRS), corporate tax, and cross-border e-commerce tax compliance.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and effectively in a high-growth, 100% remote global environment.
- Language: Professional fluency in written and spoken English to collaborate with international founders and consultants.
