Job Description

This is an individual contributor role. You do not manage a team, and you do not manage any other position at Epsilo. No direct reports, no people-management responsibility, ever, at any point in this role.

About Epsilo

•     We're a technology startup, foreign-invested with capital from Singapore.

•     We're building the operating system for retail media, unifying fragmented workflows across 50+ marketplaces globally.

•     Trusted by the world's largest consumer brands including Unilever, P&G, L'Oréal, and Colgate.

•     Backed by Sequoia, Vulcan Capital, and K3 Ventures.

•     Recognized by Gartner in their Market Guide for Digital Shelf Analytics for 3 consecutive years (2024, 2025, 2026).

•     Building from APAC to serve the fastest-growing retail media markets in the world.

What you'll do — in detail

1. Accounting & Compliance (hands-on)

•     Maintain two full sets of books in parallel, the statutory VAS books for the Vietnam subsidiary and the books for the Singapore parent company, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual VAS financial statements.

•     Own monthly bookkeeping (general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, payroll) plus all statutory tax filings and the annual tax finalization end to end.

•     Process recurring office vendor payments under a defined closed list only (staff lunch, monthly parking, pantry supplies).

2. Statutory Chief Accountant Duties

•     Hold the formal Chief Accountant appointment: sign the financial statements and the annual audit report under your own name.

•     Represent the company with banks and authorities, and lead the annual external audit to a clean, on-time opinion.

•     Handle FDI compliance (cross-border capital reporting) and the trade union fund's finances (contributions, dues, year-end settlement); union activities and welfare stay with HR.

3. FP&A Support (this is support, not ownership)

•     Prepare budget-vs-actual variance reports, cash flow forecasts, and ad hoc financial models (e.g., unit economics, hiring scenarios) for the co-founder.

•     You provide the numbers and analysis. Strategic financial decisions, target-setting, and budget approval remain with the co-founder.

4. Revenue Oversight (functional only, not management)

•     Review invoicing and collections work by the Revenue Administration Specialist, and own the month-end AR reconciliation.

•     This is functional, numbers-level oversight only; the Revenue Administration Specialist does not report to you.

5. Controls & Systems

•     Maintain accounting policies and internal controls sized for a company under 50 people, with every balance traceable and every adjustment explained.

•     Continuously improve accounting workflows on Odoo and AI tools, and advise on invoicing/tax treatment when the Business team requests it.

What we're looking for

•     Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, Chief Accountant Certificate (mandatory), and 4-5+ years of hands-on accounting experience; a prior formal Chief Accountant appointment is NOT required, this can be your first.

•     Direct, hands-on experience with tax finalization, tax authority working sessions, and year-end audits, done yourself, not only reviewed; comfortable building financial models, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis in Excel, including running two sets of books in parallel.

•     Work well independently, own the detailed work yourself, and are not looking for a people-management role now or later.

•     Working English (documents, email with auditors and investors), and able to start immediately or on short notice.

•     Advantages: background at an accounting service firm (used to running multiple sets of books), hands-on Odoo experience, IFRS/SFRS knowledge, SaaS/tech industry exposure, and practical AI tool use (Claude, ChatGPT).

Benefits

•     Social insurance contributed on 80% of your full gross package (above the statutory minimum base), covering all mandatory schemes.

•     Private health insurance (PTI), on top of social insurance.

•     Annual health check-up, plus a yearly flu vaccine.

•     14 days of annual leave.

•     1 work-from-home day per month, with flexibility when needed.

•     Daily lunch provided (service lunch).

•     Company trip.

•     Working hours: Mon-Fri, 9:00-18:30, with a 1.5-hour lunch break.
