Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a Game VFX Artist
• Hands-on experience creating real-time visual effects for games
• Proficiency in 3ds Max (preferred)
• Strong understanding of timing, gameplay readability, and player feedback
• Strong understanding of shape language, color theory, and visual storytelling
• Ability to create stylized visual effects aligned with anime or Digimon-inspired aesthetics
• Ability to create and edit VFX textures
• Ability to design and build particle-based effects using 3ds Max
• Ability to optimize visual effects within performance constraints, including draw calls, overdraw, and texture size limitations
• Portfolio showcasing VFX work used in shipped games or commercial projects

Bonus Skills

• Experience working on anime-style or stylized games
• Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or Adobe After Effects for VFX asset creation
• Basic knowledge of shader development and implementation
• Experience creating visual effects in Unreal Engine 5
• Understanding of gameplay readability principles, including telegraphing and warning effects
• Strong English communication skills for effective collaboration within an international team

Responsibilities

• Design and create gameplay VFX in anime or Digimon-inspired styles
• Produce skill and attack effects
• Create hit and impact effects
• Develop buff, debuff, and status effects
• Create loop effects such as aura, charge, and idle FX
• Ensure VFX deliver clear timing and strong gameplay readability
• Align visual effects with established art direction and gameplay design
• Optimize VFX assets to maintain strong in-game performance
• Use 3Ds Max as the primary tool for VFX creation and editing
• Collaborate with animators, 3D artists, team leads, and game producers
• Iterate and polish VFX based on art direction feedback and gameplay testing
