Global news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) is seeking an experienced and commercially minded sales leader to manage key media accounts while supporting corporate business development initiatives across APAC (e.g. news monitoring, content licensing, on-demand production, and multichannel distribution), working closely with regional sales, marketing and editorial teams. This role combines media account management responsibilities with regional corporate business development leadership.
Key Media Account Management – Singapore and the Philippines
- Manage and grow a portfolio of media clients in Singapore and the Philippines, acting as the primary commercial point of contact
- Lead senior-level client engagements, including C-level and editorial decision-makers, negotiating agreements and renewals
- Collaborate closely with editorial, product and operations teams to ensure delivery excellence and client satisfaction
- Represent AFP as a strategic partner with a strong understanding of newsroom workflows and fast-paced media environments
Corporate Business Development – APAC
- Support the APAC sales leadership in defining and executing corporate business development strategies across priority segments, including agencies, corporations, institutions, governments and NGOs
- Identify high-potential sectors, use cases and regional opportunities for AFP and its subsidiaries (including news monitoring, on-demand content production, and targeted distribution solutions)
- Contribute actively to regional pitches and proposals, including solution design, pricing logic and presentation to senior client stakeholders
- Act as a commercial ambassador for AFP's broader capabilities beyond traditional media clients
Cross-functional & Commercial Responsibilities
- Oversee the full sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiation, contracting, onboarding and after-sales follow-up
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting and reporting via CRM
- Gather structured market intelligence and feed insights back into product and strategy discussions
- Participate in regional meetings, industry events and networking opportunities
- Collaborate closely with APAC marketing, and HQ corporate development teams
Desired profile :
- 8+ years of senior sales, key account management or business development experience, preferably in media, content, information services or adjacent industries
- Proven ability to manage and grow strategic, high-value accounts, including complex stakeholders
- Strong experience pitching and negotiating with C-level executives across diverse industries
- Solid understanding of how a news agency or fast-paced content organisation operates
- Demonstrated track record in corporate or enterprise sales, including solution-based selling
- Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability
- Comfortable operating in a regional, multicultural environment
- Excellent executive presence with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised, proactive, adaptable and solution-oriented
- Fluency in English is essential; additional Asian languages are a plus
