  • Category Strategy Management for selected category areas
    • General Services Such as Library, security, Legal & Finance Services.
    • Strategic Common category such as catering, logistic services, stationery and other supplies.
  • Engage internal stakeholders to understand and refine requirements according to external supply market and across different schools.
  • Manage relationship with suppliers according to suppliers segregation, driving improvement actions and installing a cadence/dashboard/metrics to track suppliers performance. Organise supplier business review.
  • Document and Ensure compliance to Policies/Procedures/Processes in close collaboration with Internal Audit and stakeholders.
  • Lead change management and process improvement to reduce non-value-added activities by engaging stakeholders, challenging status quo and providing thought leadership..
  • Minimize contractual risks by ensuring proper Contract Management with regular reviews through close working relation with Legal.
  • Lead negotiations and devise negotiation strategies with the support of cross functional team to deliver agreed savings by utilising tools such as Benchmarking, Tender, Bidding, Value Engineering etc. Track cost savings.
  • Review supplier base regularly for optimization and consolidation according to internal requirements and external supply market situation.
  • Individual will be providing consultancy services to their stakeholder and should know about category market trends.
  • Individual will help lead procurement initiatives for decision making and take ownership of these initiatives.
  • The role reports to the Associate Director, Office of Procurement
  • Any other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree holder with at least 8 years work experience in category procurement.
  • Practical Tech Knowledge
    • Supply Base knowledge in assigned categories.
    • Tech knowledge in assigned categories.
    • Experienced in Category Management in Indirect Procurement & Services.
    • Supplier Relationship Management Skills.
    • Negotiation Skills.
    • SAP, Ariba knowledge.
    • Procurement Process Source to Contract (S2C), Procure to Pay (P2P) knowledge.
  • Communication and Influencing skills
    • Ability to understand, engage and influence stakeholders to optimize Procurement Process together.
    • Able to provide clarity into Procurement Process and compliance requirements to stakeholders.
    • Able to drive changes to address gaps in processes with minimal supervision.
