Cloud Security Engineering Lead, Financial Services

Overview

Our client is a financial services organisation seeking a Cloud Security Engineering Lead to strengthen AWS security, with a focus on secure architecture, automation, engineering controls, and regulatory compliance.

Role

This role will lead cloud security strategy and hands-on implementation across AWS-based platforms, working closely with platform engineering, application security, architecture, and infrastructure teams. The successful candidate will assess cloud designs, embed security controls, drive monitoring and incident response improvements, and champion security automation through DevSecOps and infrastructure-as-code practices. The position will also involve advising senior stakeholders, guiding technical teams, and shaping cloud security standards for scalable and compliant operations.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of cybersecurity experience, including strong hands-on experience in cloud security or security engineering.
• Deep expertise in AWS security services, secure cloud architecture, and zero-trust principles.
• Strong engineering background with experience in security automation, DevSecOps, and infrastructure as code such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience operating within financial services or another highly regulated environment, with knowledge of cloud compliance and audit requirements.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and communicating complex security topics to senior stakeholders.
