Little Paddington Preschool is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, preparing management reports, and supporting the organisation's financial planning and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1) Financial Accounting & Reporting
. Handle and maintain the full set of accounts, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Bank Reconciliations.
. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts.
. Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
. Prepare balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation.
. Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with accounting standards.
2) GST & Tax Compliance
. Prepare, review, and submit GST returns in compliance with IRAS requirements.
. Ensure timely filing of GST and other statutory submissions.
. Liaise with IRAS, auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities when required.
. Assist with corporate tax and audit requirements.
3) Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Finance Administration
. Oversee supplier invoices, payment processing, creditor reconciliations, and vendor account management.
. Manage billing, collections, debtor ageing reports, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
. Investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to customer and supplier accounts.
. Verify employee claims, reimbursements, and supporting documentation.
. Maintain proper finance records, documentation, and filing systems.
. Support day-to-day finance administration and assist with ad hoc finance and accounting duties as required.
4) Audit & Compliance
. Coordinate annual external audits and prepare audit schedules.
. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
. Maintain proper internal controls and financial governance practices.
. Support process improvement and finance digitalisation initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proven experience handling a full set of accounts independently.
- Strong knowledge of GST preparation, submission, and IRAS compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Meticulous, responsible, and able to meet deadlines independently.
