About the Role

You'll join a fast-moving team building modern web applications that process and optimize financial data at scale. This is a full-stack role with strong emphasis on backend engineering:

Build scalable backend services in NodeJs, gRPC/RESTful
Develop responsive UIs with React Router v7
Collaborate on API design and protocol buffers
Write clean, well-tested code across the stack
Optimize database queries and data pipelines
Improve observability, monitoring, and infrastructure
Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering practices

What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience in product-focused engineering
Strong ownership mindset and startup readiness
Deep expertise in NodeJs and micro-services architecture
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, gRPC/RESTful and distributed systems
Comfortable with React + TypeScript for cross-functional work

Bonus Points

Payments or fintech experience
Exposure to AI/ML systems
Built high-performance, low-latency systems
Experience with both gRPC and REST

Our Hiring Process

We'll filter candidates based on the requirements listed above which you will receive an email to schedule a 90-minute live coding session with us once you get super productive with our interview repository.

2. 90-Minute Live Coding Session

You'll pair with one of our engineers to build a small, production-like feature using Go and TypeScript React.

We'll look at:

How you think through product requirements
How you model data and structure code
Your testing, naming, and documentation habits
How you handle edge cases and incomplete specs
The session mirrors our actual development workflow: accessible, pragmatic, collaborative

3. Technical Review & Feedback

After the session, we'll walk through your code together. You'll get feedback from us, and we'll discuss your decisions, trade-offs, and any areas for improvement.

4. Culture & Alignment Chat

A final call with CEO to discuss your long-term goals, how you work best, and whether Autopilot is the right fit for both sides.
