About the role

You will own day-to-day accounting, month-end close, tax compliance, and cash flow visibility. You will work directly with the Director of Finance & Business Operations and with leadership, and manage one direct report.

This role requires someone who is technically strong, highly organised, and comfortable operating without hand-holding. If you want a job where the scope is already defined and the processes are already built, this is not it.

What you will do

Financial control and reporting

– Own the full accounting cycle: bookkeeping, general ledger, month-end and year-end close

– Produce accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements on schedule

– Maintain the integrity of financial records and chart of accounts

– Support management reporting and financial insights for leadership decision-making

Tax and compliance

– Manage all tax obligations: VAT, CIT, PIT, and WHT — preparation, filing, and payment

– Coordinate with tax authorities and external auditors

– Ensure full regulatory compliance and audit readiness at all times

– Stay current on Vietnamese tax law and flag relevant changes proactively

Payments and cash flow

– Manage vendor payments and supporting documentation

– Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes

– Maintain cash flow tracking and flag risks or shortfalls

– Support treasury management and payment approval processes

Process, controls, and AI

– Lead the transition from the external accounting provider — ensure clean handover and data integrity

– Define and document financial SOPs and internal controls

– Build approval layers and checklists that prevent errors and reduce dependency on individuals

– Identify inefficiencies and redesign them — using AI tools where they reduce manual work, improve accuracy, or speed up reporting

– Evaluate and implement AI-assisted workflows across accounting, reconciliation, and reporting tasks

What we're looking for

– 3–5 years of experience in accounting, with solid general ledger and financial reporting exposure

– Solid command of Vietnamese tax regulations: VAT, CIT, PIT, WHT

– Experience managing month-end close independently

– Proficient in accounting software (MISA, QuickBooks, or equivalent)

– Strong Excel skills — you work in spreadsheets daily and know how to make them do what you need

– High attention to detail with a low error tolerance for your own work

– Experience in a professional services, consulting, or multi-entity environment is a strong plus

– Comfortable building processes from scratch — not just following existing ones

– Comfortable managing one direct report — setting priorities, reviewing work, and developing their capability

– Curious about AI and practical tools — you actively look for ways to use them, not just accept that they exist

– Clear communicator in Vietnamese; workable English for internal reporting
