A legal assistant with experience in game licensing focuses on the administrative and operational aspects of intellectual property protection and contract management within the game industry. This is a full-time position based in Dubai and requires relocation.

Responsibilities

Contract Administration: Administering the company's legal intake system, including processing and tracking various agreements such as Non-Disclosure Agreements, contractor agreements, and operations license agreements for approvals and e-signatures.
Document Drafting & Review: Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and basic contracts using established templates. This includes reviewing agreements for compliance with company policies and identifying irregular terms for attorney review.
Intellectual Property Support: Assisting attorneys with copyright and trademark matters, such as preparing and filing applications with relevant governing bodies (e.g., the USPTO) and sending DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) takedown notices for infringement.
Legal Research: Conducting basic legal and factual research on industry matters, including IP rights, publishing terms, and compliance, to support attorneys and internal teams.
Docketing and Deadline Management: Maintaining and updating legal databases and docketing systems to track deadlines, contract renewals, and important milestones, ensuring timely action.
Liaison and Communication: Acting as a liaison between the company's internal teams (e.g., marketing, development) and external parties, including outside counsel, clients, and government agencies, to ensure smooth communication and information flow.
Records Management: Organizing and maintaining physical and digital legal files and client records, ensuring all documentation is accurate, current, and accessible.

Qualifications

Experience: Prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, with a background in intellectual property or entertainment/media law preferred.
Knowledge: Familiarity with IP legal procedures, contract law, and a strong interest in the video game industry.
Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and time management skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal personnel.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal practice management software, and electronic filing systems.
Education: An associate degree or paralegal certification is common, providing advanced legal knowledge.
