Role Summary/Purpose:

VP, Solution Architect, Servicing Apps, will provide leadership and technical expertise for development and support of Telephony Integrated Custom Servicing Applications. This role will involve oversight of multiple Workstation applications, agile teams and GDC delivering servicing applications, cloud and microservices applications and leading critical initiatives across multiple CST Orgs.

The Solution Architect needs significant people and process skills, with ability to communicate complex ideas and issues in simple terms to project teams, external clients, and often senior management. They also need to deeply understand the business processes in order to create a cohesive vision of the products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the development and support of Workstation Applications and other servicing Applications.
Work closely with Synchrony and Supplier technical resources and product managers to translate overall system architecture and product requirements into well-designed software components.
Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and provide recommendations to the development team.
Help and guide team build reliable and resilient solutions while aligning with the Application modernization goals.
Drive root cause analysis and ensure consistently high availability for the business to ensure they meet their objectives
Identify new opportunities to drive system improvements and simplifications through innovation
Keep abreast of emerging technologies while maintaining proficiency in existing technologies
Build strong teams of technical resources, motivate resources, and retain critical skills
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Oversee the programming, integration, and testing of the applications and services.
Participate in PI Planning and Pre- and Post-PI Planning, System and Solution Demos.
Work with Enterprise Architect to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enabler epics.
Responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision for the Agile Release Train (ART) to help ensure the system or Solution under development is fit for its intended purpose.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology or in lieu of a degree 12+ years of experience.
Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience on Full stack development using Java, J2EE, Web Services (SOAP, REST), jQuery, Spring , ReactJS, Struts, Hibernate and Spring, PL/SQL, MySQL or Postgres Databases.
3+ year experience in architecting SaaS or COTS applications.
5+ years experience in designing and developing applications using microservices architecture and cloud technologies like Springboot, Micro services, PCF, AWS, Maven, BitBucket, Cloudbees, GitHub, Jenkins and Splunk.
Experience in application architecture and design, with a strong hold on associated patterns, processes and tools
5+ year experience in agile software development practices. . Good understanding of SDLC processes and release management processes
Proven analytical, and problem-solving skills
Superior oral and written communication
Willing to work flexible shift timings to be able to respond to emergencies . Strong experience with Cloud Platforms like Pivotal Cloud Foundry & AWS

Work Timings:

2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST( Suggested) (WORK TIMINGS: This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time - 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
