Job summary
The Senior Accountant will support the development of a Vietnam-based Regional Accounting Hub, initially focused on Australian accounting activities with potential future scope across other APAC entities. The role will be responsible for complex general ledger activities, month-end close support, reconciliations, financial controls, audit support, and process improvement.
The role will work closely with the Australian Finance Manager, Vietnam Finance Manager, shared service teams, and Group Finance. It will also provide guidance to less experienced accountants and help ensure accounting activities are delivered accurately, on time, and in line with Endava policies
Key responsibilities
Accounting and month-end close
- Prepare, review and post accounting journals, including accruals, prepayments, payroll-related entries, fixed assets, intercompany and other GL adjustments.
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring reconciling items are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities in line with agreed deadlines.
- Analyse P&L and balance sheet movements and prepare supporting commentary, schedules or explanations where required.
- Reconcile trial balance balances to subledgers and maintain appropriate supporting documentation
- Support payment processing, cash management activities and bank-related reconciliations where required.
Controls, compliance and audit
- Apply Endava accounting policies and internal control requirements consistently.
- Support compliance activities where required, including preparation of schedules and supporting information.
- Support SOX/internal control activities, including preparation, review and documentation of relevant controls.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Identify accounting, control or process issues and escalate them promptly.
Regional hub development and stakeholder support
- Support the development of the Vietnam-based Regional Accounting Hub.
- Work closely with Australia Finance, Vietnam Finance, SSC teams, Group Finance, AP, AR, and payroll team members.
- Provide technical accounting support to colleagues and stakeholders where required.
- Review work prepared by junior team members and provide coaching or guidance.
- Support process improvements, SOP updates, system changes and finance transformation initiatives.
- Support future transition of accounting activities for other APAC entities where required.
Qualifications
Required experience and skills
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- ACCA, CPA or equivalent qualification.
- Strong GL accounting experience, ideally including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, payroll accounting, intercompany, payment support and audit.
- Good understanding of accounting standards, internal controls and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to learn financial systems.
- Strong written and verbal English communication.
- Able to work independently, manage deadlines and escalate issues clearly.
- Proactive, reliable, detail-focused and comfortable working with regional/global teams.
Desirable
- Experience in a multinational company, shared services centre, audit firm or regional finance environment.
- Experience with Oracle or similar ERP.
- Exposure to SOX or formal internal control environments.
- Experience reviewing or coaching junior team members.
