Job Description

Assists the General Manager and Executive Assistant Manager in implementing the hotel and brand strategy, in order to meet targets set for quality of product, attitudes and service. To assist with the planning and managing of the hotel operations to best achieve customer (guests, employees, corporate and owners) satisfaction while meeting / exceeding financial goals.
To demonstrate a short and long term focus and to show responsibility for delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel and the owning company.
In case of absence of the General Manager and the Executive Assistant Manager, the Operations Manager is next in charge and may be requested to assume responsibility for the hotel.
. To assist to supervise and manage the operations of the hotel in order to maximize profitability and to ensure superior guest service and product quality.
. Assist HOD's to develop, recommend, implement and manage operational departments annual and long term goals.
. To assist with managing performance issues that arise within the operational departments, as well as offer assistance in conjunction with HRM to train and analyze training needs required in the hotel.
. To assist to mediate as required and resolve problems of departmental team members and managers.
. Is an integral part of the business team, attends all scheduled meetings as required and contributes actively with proper preparation.
. Effectively communicates with all team members.
. In conjunction with HRM / EAM / GM - assist to drive committees for hotel improvement plan and development within the hotel.
. To assist the General Manager with projects as required for development of La Veranda, planned extension and also other development projects outside of the hotel as required.
To manage operational expenses to stay within budgeted guidelines, as well as gather and report financial information as required by the General Manager.
To ensure that rules and regulations related to occupational health and safety (OH&S) and the hotel risk prevention, safety and evacuation manuals in conjunction with the Chief Engineer are up to date and compliant. As such are also being regularly trained followed by the staff.
To ensure respect of legal contracts with respect to contractor's / casual labour or other non-hotel personnel (in conjunction with HRM) are duly followed in accordance with hotel and government requirements

Ensures respect of the hotel's commitments to the Environmental Charter
To assist HRM to monitor present and future trends in the local labour situation, social legislation and make any recommendations to the hotel management as and when required.
To ensure staff comply with the hotel policies and procedures in conjunction with HRM and HOD's.

To assist the Management in any activity to help promote business and revenue for the hotel.
