JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Level Designer Intern, you will utilize gameplay mechanics, narrative beats, and artistic direction to create fun levels to challenge our players and deliver witty stories.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualizing, designing, building, and scripting bespoke levels
- Designing and implementing areas of the game including layout, character placement, objectives, and other gameplay-related entities
- Collaborating with the Lead Designer and Game Designers to contribute engaging ideas towards all aspects of game design
- Collaborating with other Level Designers to define and refine level layouts, creating a fun, satisfying, and polished level design flow
- Working closely with the narrative and art departments to conceive and design environments that are innovative and visually impressive
- Collaborating with the engineering team to develop and enhance the development of tools and processes used in building our levels.
- As a fresher in Level Design, you understand what it takes for a good gameplay and you can learn more from peers. You are empathic and a good communicator in English (our company language), which allows you to clearly outline your ideas, collaborate with your peers, and develop strong relationships.
- Level Design's 101 knowledge and principles, ideally level-based oriented
- Ability to design game levels using 3D tools (e.g. Unity, UnrealEd, Maya, Max or similar 3D editors).
- A degree in Game/Level Design, a similar field, or the equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience in Level Design on shipped or finished games and vertical slices in a plus
- Some skills in staging the absurd in a quirky humoristic tone is a plus (show us how funny you can be)
