Job Description Summary
The role is responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, closing and reporting to deliver accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities are focused on accounting processes and procedures to drive consistency and predictability into the monthly and quarterly closure of the general ledger and related subledgers for both US GAAP and Vietnam GAAP. This role will be based in Vietnam.Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for general accounting and policy application & process administration for all cycles including inventory, revenue recognition, receivables/payables, intercompany, etc.. Understand and interpret applicable Enterprise Standards (RACES), SOP and Process Maps to deliver accurate financial process/accounting services.
  • Responsible for Statutory Financial Statements of the business and the Statutory Consolidated Financial Statement of the legal company.
  • Support Statutory audits as local chief accountant and support other business auditing process with external auditor.
  • Provide monthly reports and ad hoc reports to relevant stakeholders as requested to support STAT external financial audits.
  • Prepare and/or review manual journal entries in both the local and GE ledgers
  • Ensure proper accounts reconciliation (GE GAP to STATUTORY) process throughout the organization.
  • Support Finance Managers to resolve daily operational issues.
  • Understand and interpret applicable GE General Accounting Procedures (GE GAPs), US GAAP, GE Enterprise Standards, GE Standard Operating Procedures and Process Maps to deliver timely, high quality financial reporting information.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance or economics
  • Compliance & controllership mindset
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with GE Enterprise Standard Chart of Accounts, US GAAP and GE accounting policies and procedures in the areas of closing & reporting
  • Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Oracle accounting / ERP systems (RACES), Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong analytical skills able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Clear thinking/problem solving: successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions
  • Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment
  • Vietnamese chief accountant certification at minimum or equivalent CPA certification.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
