Head of Legal and Compliance

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Legal

Lead and manage the company's legal function in line with regional and headquarters standards.

Review, draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documents related to:

• Fintech & digital financial services
• Cross-border payments & remittance
• E-wallet & lending products
• Technology, outsourcing, and partnerships

Provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders across multiple functions.

Identify legal risks proactively and develop actionable mitigation strategies.

Support matters relating to:

• Corporate governance
• Employment law
• Intellectual property
• Data privacy & data protection
• Dispute resolution

Work closely with regional teams, regulators, external counsels, and business partners on strategic initiatives and projects.

Compliance

Act as the nominated Compliance Officer in accordance with Vietnam regulations.

Maintain strong working relationships with the State Bank of Vietnam and relevant authorities.

Ensure all regulatory reporting obligations are completed accurately and on time.

Support licensing, renewals, regulatory submissions, and audit processes.

Monitor regulatory updates and assess impacts on business operations and products.

Advise stakeholders on compliance matters including:

• AML/CFT
• KYC & Customer Due Diligence
• Outsourcing
• Business continuity
• Technology & operational compliance

Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high-risk customers and oversee suspicious transaction reporting.

Improve internal compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures through risk analysis and process evaluation.

Deliver compliance awareness training and foster a strong compliance culture across the organization.

Collaborate with regional compliance teams on cross-border and regional projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Law (postgraduate or overseas education is a plus).

5–7+ years of post-qualification experience in:

• Law firms
• Financial institutions
• Fintech companies
• Consulting environments

Strong understanding of:

• Financial services regulations
• Fintech & digital payments
• Cross-border remittance
• AML/CFT compliance
• Consumer lending regulations
• Data privacy & data protection

Proven ability to translate complex legal and regulatory matters into practical business solutions.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Commercial mindset with a collaborative and solution-driven approach.

Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-moving environment.

Managerial or team leadership experience is a plus..
