Job Description

Job Summary:

The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Keeping:
  • Maintain and update the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable ledgers.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Payroll Management:
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with local labor laws.
  • Compliance & Auditing:
  • Assist in the preparation of documents for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Taxation:
  • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
  • Keep up to date with changes in tax regulations and advise the management accordingly.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and systems.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support:
  • Provide financial analysis and support to other departments as required.
  • Assist in special financial projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of [2] years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Experience with accounting software is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Working Conditions:
