The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain and update the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable ledgers.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
Payroll Management:
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with local labor laws.
Compliance & Auditing:
Assist in the preparation of documents for internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax laws.
Taxation:
Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
Keep up to date with changes in tax regulations and advise the management accordingly.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and systems.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Support:
Provide financial analysis and support to other departments as required.
Assist in special financial projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
Experience:
