The Role Responsibilities

  • Develop sales and marketing strategy for each client in the portfolio with focus on key clients. Prepare detailed plan for each customer account to align with the relevant coverage units. Monitor and review the performance of these customer relationships against targets

  • Defend and expand SCB&rsquos market share of FM sales business in local market

  • Actively marketing SCB&rsquos online FXMM trading platforms in order to persuade clients to trade FXMM via these platforms

  • Raise clients&rsquo awareness of SCB&rsquos FM capabilities and products through one-on-one presentations and seminars


  • Work towards achieving the sales revenue budget of the assigned client portfolio. Performing the BAU activities of the desk with no error

  • Maintain frequent contacts with the current and target customer base to develop relationships, to gain more insights into client&rsquos plans and needs for treasury products/services, and to identify cross-sell opportunities

  • Establish good working relationships with business partners (i.e. Trading, CCIB RMs, TB, Structuring, etc) and other support areas in SCB (i.e. CSG, FMO, CMO, Trade Ops, CRC, Credit Risk, Business Finance, IT, HR, etc.) to achieve mutual understanding, work in harmony, collaborate well, and support each other in serving clients&rsquo needs and processing clients&rsquo transactions smoothly

  • Work closely with the CCIB team and other stakeholders (i.e. Trading, Research, Structuring, etc) to deepen existing client relationships and pursue new strategic clients by offering FX and value add products

  • Promote teamwork spirit by cooperating well with other team members, and being ready to support and back up each other on daily activities all times

  • Conduct a competition scan periodically to navigate SCB&rsquos position in the local market and update senior managers

  • Prepare regular reports and any ad-hoc report of FM Sales in timely manner

  • Take additional tasks and responsibilities assigned by Line Manager from time to time


  • Respond speedily and accurately to customers&rsquo requests for any transaction and any advice/support

  • Strictly follow the Department Operation Instruction of FM business

  • Ensure that the Group&rsquos operating model is always adhered to and the daily dealing activities within operational and reputational risk guidelines

People and Talent

  • Complete all e-learnings before due dates with zero tolerance of past-due ones

  • Participate in all training programs/workshops/conferences to enrich knowledges and build up experiences

  • Be willing to take additional responsibility and exposure to advance career development

Risk Management

  • Identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate risks to the FM business as well as the bank. Ensure the timely escalation and recording of any identified risks

  • Take personal responsibility for understanding and complying with both the wordings and spirit of all applicable laws, regulations, the Group&rsquos policies, and the Group&rsquos procedures

  • Comply with all audit requirements and support the timely implementation of any recommendations made during audit reviews


  • Ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This includes compliance with local banking laws, other applicable laws (e.g. laws governing securities activities, company law) and anti-money laundering regulations and guidelines

  • Ensuring behaviours set out in the Group Code of Conduct are followed and that the business achieves the outcomes set out in the Conduct Principals and Pillars

  • Be an active member of the FM Sales Team and contribute towards increased morale of the sales team and dealing room as a whole

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group&rsquos Values and Code of Conduct

  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters

Key Stakeholders

  • FM Management: Line Manager, FM Head, Trading desks, Structuring

  • CCIB: RMs and Head

  • Ops: FMO, CMO, Trade, CRC, TCRM, and other Ops units

  • Legal and Compliance

  • Other Division: TB for cross-selling of products and fostering closer ties

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor&rsquos degree in finance, economics, business or related fields. Master&rsquos degree is a plus

  • Other professional certificate is a plus

  • Working experience in Sales and Marketing, preferable in Financial Markets Sales & Trading exposures in FXMM primarily with corporate clients

  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure

  • Ability to communicate and negotiate deals with customers

  • Understanding the operational aspects of the banking activities (i.e. flows, processes, etc)

  • Ability to deal and communicate effectively with people of various departments

  • Ability to manage administrative issues on client onboarding process

  • Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and innovative

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel
