Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage the whole accounting function, include but not limited to:
  • -Maintain COA mapping and setting in LAS as well as SUN system for life insurance accounting in compliance with local accounting standard and Group accounting standard (IFRS), specifically for the Fund separation accounting
  • Manage set up in system and the process for centralising and monitoring daily premium collection
  • Manage and maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, fixed asset and project accounting ensures accuracy and timeliness
  • Manages monthly closing of financial records and accounts reconciliation ensures accuracy of financial statements. and works with relevant Depts for monitoring and reporting, to ensure fully & timely accounting record for all transactions relating to Life insurance occurred in the reporting period.
  • To manage the payment process to ensure timely and valid payments to company employees and third parties, in compliance with regulatory requirements, Tax regulations and company policies with customer-oriented mindset and supportive manner.
  • To review the daily works of staff to find area can be improved in order to enhance the quality of works while the workload increasing, work closely with IT to give initiatives relating to developing the system in order to maximise the process simplified and automatically and strengthen the finance control
  • To conduct training on finance operation matters to other Depts in company
  • To corporate, support, advise other Departments in company for the Finance operations matters, lead the setting & conducting Accounting matters for new Projects/Products implementation of Company to get the good communication and corporation with other Departments to fulfil Company's objectives and manage daily operations to be ensure the operation smoothly consistent and having the improvement.
  • To organize assignment, balancing works to staff between the sections to ensure the sections fulfil the works smoothly, and have proper rotations to give opportunity to staff to develop their career
  • Support IFRS 17 projects, other business projects and Finance operation's projects as initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Cooperating and supporting all other departments in set up procedures for finance control and providing guidance and advise, give the advise to solve the problems, to ensure that all business involved to Finance Operations is adequate in Finance control, in compliance with Finance and Accounting principles, tax regulations
  • Managing the Financial Operations to ensure that the GL Accounting of Life Insurance business of Company in compliance with Accounting Standard, VAS & PCA Financial Manual, specific MOF accounting reporting requirements financial information is provided timely, adequately and accurately to the MOF and Company Management for decision making
  • Organizing the training course to Accounting staff for professional matters such as accounting standards, new MOF circulars for Accounting policy conducting the presentation for new issues related to Accounting implementation such as for new projects to ensure that the staff can be updated the professional knowledge properly and can adapt promptly & consistently the changes in implementation
  • Leading new projects for set up Accounting matters including procedure, process, system, tax recording, accounting movement for projects relating to Company ( such as Unit linked product, cash management projects with VBA,VCB ,GA offices ), MOF (such as Fund Split for MOF reporting ) and PCA ( such as standardized COA from PCA, regional banking service for Cash Management ,MIS ), innovation on the Accounting process/ procedure automation for simplifying the process, reducing turnaround time and the customer service qualification enhancement.
  • Work with Statutory Reporting team to give advice and assist MOF - Insurance Dept and Accounting Policy Dept & General Tax Dept in building the Tax regulations, compiling Accounting Policy in order to maximise advantage to Life Insurance industry development environment.

Job requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Finance/Accounting, with a relevant professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of VAS, IAS, Life Insurance, Statutory and Tax regulations
  • Has a strong ability to apply logical and critical thinking to resolve problems
  • Propensity to drive and support required changes to improve efficiency & process excellence
  • Strong analytical skills, strong numerical, business acumen
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong people management experience
