Exciting Opportunity: Homologation Manager (Hanoi-based)

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Homologation Manager at our organization, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and traceability of vehicles, products, and components for the Europe, MEAF & ASIA markets. This challenging yet rewarding position involves collaboration with government authorities and overseas business units to secure timely product release, meet quality and legal requirements, and drive enhanced Quality competitiveness, Customer Satisfaction, and Flawless Launches.

I - RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Regulatory Compliance:

Conduct in-depth research on regulations in Europe, MEAF & ASIA markets.

Assess design changes required for market entry and compliance.

Collaborate with the Top Management Team to plan and execute a comprehensive certification strategy.

2. Test and Validation Coordination:

Bring together Design, Validation, and Test engineers to formulate effective test regimes.

Provide Program Management with assessments of required changes, testing, and timelines.

Liaise with external test authorities and schedule witness testing.

3. Government Approvals:

Apply to government authorities for approval to import in-country validation and test vehicles.

Create and submit certification documentation to secure approval and import-export licenses for production vehicles.

Address inquiries from government departments and represent the company during inspections.

4. Presentations and Communication:

Make presentations to government departments to support production and ensure legal compliance.

Keep planning & program management informed of potential issues and future scenarios.

Provide regulatory interpretations for safety field investigations and design departments.

5. Audits and Inspections:

Audit test reports and conduct in-plant audits of saleable vehicles & production plants.

Approve or delay full production based on audit findings.

Coordinate with government authorities for inspections of production vehicles and audits of production plants.

6. Industry Collaboration:

Liaise with other Company business units and industry associations.

Organize face-to-face conferences for all Company business units regulation departments.

7. Customer Support and Technical Advice:

Provide technical advice and documentation to customers with vehicle compliance questions.

Offer assistance in addressing personal vehicle export issues.

Advise police authorities on technical matters.

8. Team Management and Development:

Select and manage a high-potential team.

Develop team strengths and address weaknesses to achieve Quality targets.

Implement a people development program to groom the next generation of leaders.

II - JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education / Professional Knowledge:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Automotive engineering.

Proficient in English reading and writing skills.

MBA in Project Management.

Master's degree (preferred).

2. Skills and Experience:

Inspirational leader with the ability to build, manage, and develop effective teams.

8+ years of experience in automotive homologation-related activities.

Experience in product development focused on Europe, MEAF & ASIA regulations.

Extensive knowledge of the automotive industry, regulations/homologation, and Consumer Metrics.

3. Other Requirements:

Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills (clear thinker).

Good understanding of internal guidelines and products/services.

Ownership, responsibility, and ability to work under pressure.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
