Job Description Summary
Involve activities related to the wellbeing of employees. Develops and implements policies and practices to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace. Identifies potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions. Investigates accidents and collaborates with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes and prevent recurrence. Provides advice and training on safety protocols and conducts audits to ensure compliance with organizational and government standards related to employee health and safety. Maintains and analyzes records of workplace injuries, illnesses, and absences to identify areas of concern and provide information required by regulatory agencies.
This position will be based in our factory in Amata, Dong Nai.
MAIN PURPOSE:
- Lead the Vietnam country HSE function with responsibility of meeting national and local regulations for Occupational Health, Safety and Environment as well as Global HSE standards and policies
- This position directly leads the HSE operational activities in Bien Hoa Site and supports Office location and CP HSE related activities in line with Bayer strategy
- Provide direct oversight supporting operations and work closely with the global HSE team to implement the HSE strategy across business
- As a partner to the Vietnam leadership team, ensure the HSE strategy, program and process align to maintain license to operate and Bayer reputation
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Corporate HSE:
- Lead the development of Vietnam HSE programs by establishing operational objectives, delegating assignments and collaborating with country team to ensure effective operational execution in both locations
- Support health initiatives such as wellness programs at both locations
- Support Road Safety program implementation for all businesses in collaboration with fleet and management
- Manage license/ permit/ report and fulfill local HSE regulation, also Global guidance by coordinating with other departments, developing inspection programs for Lab, Sites, Field operations to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health standard
- Actively engage and collaborate in key strategic and functional communities to leverage Bayer's commitment to HSE excellence
- Consult waste treatment management
Bien Hoa site activities:
- Define and implement HSE risk-based management system frame and monitor its performance
- Establish, maintain and implement Site HSE procedures (Licenses to Operate, Permit to Work, Management of Change, Risk assessment) in operation and leading safety committee & audit
- Organize annual mandatorily environment monitoring, firefighting & rescue and chemical spill response protocol at site
- Drive continuous safety and health maturity and culture improvement by ensuring understanding and adherence to standards providing actions/programs visibility and raising regular awareness among stakeholders (management, employees, contractors etc..)
- Ensure all safety and environmental incidents are reported to the appropriate authority as well as into Intelex and run appropriate root cause and analysis and provide proper recommendation to prevent re-occurrences
- Manage waste treatment activities (warehouse, process, documentation, vendors...) with compliance and its budget management
Compile SDS
- Be the main point of contact for the appropriate government agencies/ meetings
- Coach and identify formal training opportunities to deliver potential succession
Others
- Support seeds operations development enabling risk evaluation, HSE programs implementation, tollers and warehouse inspections
- Hold fair & professional working environment ensuring respect of Human Rights with third party contractors while balancing HSE factors and resources
- Other tasks may be assigned upon business requirement
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
- Behavior: mission focus, creative mindset, collaboration, with accountability
- Bachelor's in Environmental Science/ Chemical, HSE related field or according to regulation requirement
- Min 10 years experience in HSE
- Collaboration, Efficiency, Flexibility & Ownership
- Fast response and adapt with organizational changes and operational needs
- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellence in communication, being a self-starter and able handle crucial situations
- Fluent in English
