The Senior Test Automation Engineer develops QA strategies, plans, procedures, test cases and test scripts according to business and functional requirements. The Senior Test Automation Engineer conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure quality for large and complex projects. They take responsibility for the verification of solutions in line with business requirements and specifications.

He/She performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements.
The Senior Test Automation Engineer works closely with Business Analysts and receive detailed business / user requirement specifications that identify the goal of the service and use these to create a QA strategy and plan. Evaluates and tests new software applications according to business and functional requirements. He/she meets with internal clients, Business Analyst and/or Architects and software designers to understand the project scope before writing the tests.
The Senior Test automation engineer designs test cases and implements them using automated test tools so that tests can be run automatically in a number of different test environments and service configurations. The Senior Test Automation Engineer takes responsibility for documenting and maintaining the code that he/she has written into an overall process that enables application use and security. These individuals transform the detailed requirements into a complete, detailed systems QA document which focuses on how to verify the required functionality.
The Senior Test Automation Engineer develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
He/She converts a design into a complete test system including acquiring and installing the systems environment, creating and testing databases, preparing test case procedures, preparing test files, coding, compiling, refining programs and performing test readiness review and procurement activities.
Integration and Testing
Once the application has been designed, the Senior Test Automation Engineer performs API level testing, system testing, black box functional testing, UI testing, and white box testing. Non-functional testing including load, performance, security, capacity, availability, scalability is also essential.
Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
The Senior Test Automation Engineer prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
He/She applies test methodology, engineering and product knowledge in the design of tests and testing strategies for the analysis and certification of products. If the test does not deliver the required results, the Senior Test Automation Engineer examines the program errors in logic and data and makes the necessary corrections and if required and escalates the problem. In so doing, they perform debugging and data resolution activities.
The Senior Test Automation Engineer prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
He/She works with technical teams to assist with the installation and deployment of the service/application. This includes implementation preparation, implementation of the solution into a production environment and resolution of any problems identified in the integration and test phases.
They have good knowledge on software design and the software development life cycle (SDLC). They take holistic views of such software application environments including hardware platforms, applications, databases, operating systems and storage. They use client requirements to advise on the design, deployment and operation of applications.
