A. About MSMC Asia

Morningstar Asia (MSMC Asia) is a Singapore-headquartered corporate services consultancy, founded in 2017. The firm specialises in one-stop support for international businesses entering Southeast Asia, with particular depth in serving Chinese-invested enterprises (CIEs). Services span company registration, accounting, tax, legal, audit, and full business setup support. MSMC Asia currently operates branches in Malaysia, Thailand, and Japan, and is now expanding its operations into Vietnam.

B. Role Context

This is MSMC Asia's first accounting hire for its Vietnam operations. The successful candidate will own end-to-end accounting and tax execution for a portfolio of FDI clients — from bookkeeping through to periodic tax filings and year-end finalisations — while serving as the primary point of contact on all compliance matters. The role demands both technical depth in Vietnamese accounting and tax, and the client-service orientation to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable guidance for foreign investors.

II. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Position Overview

Title: Accounting & Tax Services Consultant

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Employment: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

· Manage a portfolio of FDI client accounts — track compliance deadlines, outstanding deliverables, and dossier status across multiple entities simultaneously

· Execute and deliver the full service scope — from bookkeeping through to periodic tax filings and year-end finalisations

· Handle tax registration, e-invoice registration, and digital signature setup for newly incorporated clients

· Manage social insurance registrations and monthly SI declarations for client employees

· Liaise with the Tax Department and local tax offices on behalf of clients

· Build client onboarding checklists and accounting SOPs as part of the founding team

Core Requirements

· Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Auditing; Certified Tax Agent & Chief Accountant Certificateis preferred.

· 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience, with experience working for FDI clients

· Proficient in Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and tax regulations (VAT, CIT, PIT, FCWT)

· Familiar with e-invoice systems and the tax e-portal

· Client-facing: able to explain accounting and tax matters clearly to non-accountant foreign investors

· Working-level English (written and spoken) — for communicating with foreign clients

· Organised, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple client portfolios simultaneously

· Startup mindset: willing to roll up sleeves and build processes from scratch

Must Have:

· Certified Tax Agent & Chief Accountant Certificate is preferred.

· 3+ years experience

· Basic English communication

· Solid knowledge of VAS, VAT, CIT, PIT, FCWT and familiar with e-invoice & tax e-portal

Strong Advantage:

· Experience handling accounts for Chinese FDI companies

· Comfortable building a team from scratch

· Written or spoken Chinese/Japanese is a plus
