Speaking of equality, leading organisations have long been offering compulsory inclusion modules, LGBTQ+ communities, sensitisation sessions, counselling and solace. This support for rainbow-friendly workspaces within the India Inc. has gained momentum after the dismissal of Section 377 as unlawful on September 6th, 2018.
Out & Equal Workplace Advocates, the world’s premier non-profit organisation, reports that safe workspaces “are linked to greater job commitment, improved workplace relationships, increased job satisfaction, improved health outcomes, and increased productivity among LGBTQ+ employees”. The evidence of progress for inclusivity in the Indian corporate landscape can be clearly witnessed through the fact that an increasing number of companies are joining the bandwagon of creating safer workspaces for the LGBTQ+ individuals.
Following are some of the companies in India Inc. that have taken concrete measures in offering a conducive environment and embracing diversity.
